find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

First off, since you are assumingly obese, take comfort in the fact that it should be easier for you to lose weight with exercise than it is for thinner or less-obese people. I'm sure you've heard it a million times, but there is only one answer for that sort of weight-loss: diet and exercise. Certain diet pills may help give you the energy you need to get in the gym, but watch out for anything containing ephedra and just do some research on the product before you buy it. I've taken TotalLean before (available at GNC) and although it makes me feel like a crackhead, if I only take a half a pill in the afternoon after work, I have all the motivation I need to get in the gym and have a great workout.
Second, remember the formula "Calories in vs. Calories out". In plain and simple terms, in order to lose weight, you need to consume less calories than you burn in a day. There are plenty of wonderful online calculators that can help you determine how many calories you're burning and how many you need to burn to lose pounds. I use this one: http://www.caloriesperhour.com/ which has many different health calculators for things like calorie consumption, BMR and BMI, etc. Chances are you don't even need to get that technical...by just cutting down your portion sizes by like a third, you will probably be cutting out a lot of the unnecessary calories you're consuming.
Finally, do lots of crunches. When you're sitting there watching tv, why not do some crunches on the floor while you're watching? That way at least you can still entertain yourself while doing something productive. Muscles burn fat, so by strengthening your ab muscles, you will be more likely to burn the fat in that area because you will most likely be using those muscles a lot more than you ever have (you may also find that strengthening ab muscles improves posture and back problems).
If you truly care about losing the weight, you need to make a commitment to stick to at least moderate exercise and some healthy diet changes for a longer period of time. You probably won't see results within the first couple of weeks, but if you do the above and cut out fast food and junk food, then I guarantee that will be enough to provide you with significant results.
