Ask him if his life insurance is up to date and paid. If he doesn't get some help, he isn't going to live very long.

Diarrhea is a serious issue as others have mentioned. The resulting dehydration can have very serious effects on the body. It sounds like you are saying your husband is a diabetic which also complicates this issue even more.
If he is stating he cannot control his blood sugar then you might help him understand (if he does not) that when a diabetic is ill their blood sugars will never get back into control until the illness is resolved.
In this case it does not sound like this is going to resolve without medical attention.
As someone else said you may just have to try and force him to go. Take care and I hope he comes to his senses soon and gets medical attention.
You will be in my prayers

He definitely needs to see a doctor as soon as possible. There are too many things that this could indicate to do any type of speculation.
Anyway, he should have a coloscopy just to see if there is anything within the colon causing the diarrea. Besides it being polyps, a malignancy, ulcertative colitis, or crohns disease, it just might be diverticulitis . . which causes this type of sudden diarrea and the inability to reach the bathroom in time. But, there is no way for anyone here to tell you that.
He needs to be examined.
Good luck.

It he's had the Diarrhea for a while, he's probably dehydrated. Make sure he's drinking plenty of water, Gatorade, or Pedialyte (drink for children with Diarrhea). Although, Gatorade is better tasting. Try giving him a teaspoon of Pepto Bismol. Pepto can be constipating and he doesn't want that either. Still, he needs to get checked by a doctor. He's losing valuable nutrients.

I recommend a colonoscopy for him. My husband had the same issues; diarrhea all day long. It turned out he has colitis/chrohns disease. He is only 27, so age is not an issue with these diseases. Not to scare you or anything, but diarrhea to the point of not being able to make it to the bathroom is not a sugar issue, there is something more than meets the eye here. Good luck.

Unfortunately, we have to treat our husbands like children sometimes! Call and make him an appt. yourself and do NOT give him a choice in going! Tell him he has to go, that he is probably right it is probably just his sugar, but you want to know for sure. Tell him he is being selfish if he refuses to go, b/c he is taking the chance of him dieing and leaving you alone! And by all means, go to the appt. with him to help explain what has been going on so that he does not act like it is no big deal! Good Luck!

time to play hard ball. My sister has been diabetic on an insulin pump for a long time, she has never had this issue, if its common though she would know...so email me if you want to talk to her, she would def help you out if she could.
I say play hard ball.......tell him even if its at two in the morning that he needs to get up and wash the sheets. Hes a big boy he needs to be in control of himself and his sugar levels......I would also set up an interview for life insurance, just tell him he isn't going to take care of himself you want a nice high level of insurance for when he dies so you don't have to worry about it. Those two things will get his attention! The thing is, bowel movements at night just aren't normal to begin with.....even babies actually wake up and cry, that contraction is usually what causes them to go......so something else is going on and he should be having a lot of bad cramps. That he isn't isn't normal either. I would worry plenty. Hell hun, make the appt for him, tell if you have to you will literally drag his butt to it like hes a child if he wants to act like one....some of the tests they will do is blood work, he may have developed an allergy to wheat or something else simple....

Yet another stubborn man..Why do we always cause ourselves more harm then it is ultimately worth..He really needs to get in and see a doctor to see what might be wrong..It could be just his sugar levels but it could be any number of other health problems..Let him know you are worried about his health and would feel better if he went to the doctor..Beyond that see if talking to his doctor yourself helps, maybe sparks a call to your hubby from the doctor..Never know, might work..Well I hope all goes well.

You're going to have to force him to go. If he keeps having diarrhea he's going to become dehydrated which is potentially deadly. Talk to a pharmacist and see what you can get him over the counter, but definitely get him to a doctor.

you can always try to call the doctor when he is not home and ask the doctor what they would recommend him doing about the problem
