Gen 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Gen 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Gen 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Isn't this what is happening now? Violence is growing every day around us and in the whole world.

There were no metal detectors in the schools in the 50s & 60s. We never heard of serious violence in high school and I was in a town of a 1/4 million people

Yes. Wars in the last century have killed more than at any time previously. They get progressively worse. Makes sense, more people with less God in them. Violence today is tolerated much more just because it's so prevalent. It's not shocking anymore to see people killed because it has become routine. Or the shock factor wears off very quickly. It also takes even more violent act to renew the shock in us.

The verses you gave are relevant to today. I suspect that the longer we go the more violence we'll see. At some point God will have seen enough.

Just because you never heard of serious violence doesn't mean it wasn't there. The world has always been a violent place. All of nature is filled with violence of one form or another.

Blessings,

Do you really hear of that much violence in schools now? The precautions are just long overdue.

And we don't have Hitler-esque mass exterminations anymore, do we? That seems like a drop in violence to me.

My point is, the violence level has not changed. It might rise and fall in specific locations, but it has always been the same.

The world has always been violent. The amount of violence in the U.S. may be increasing, but people in the Middle East, Asia, Eastern Europe, etc. have been killing each other since the beginning of time.

In the 50s and 60s kids (in the UK) were systematically punished with the cane or belt- that seems pretty violent to me.

like it or not the return of Christ is soon

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
