You missed one: both churches have had leaders who have advocated the murder of those who leave the religion.

Here is a quote from the 2nd prophet of the Mormon church, Brigham Young-

"I could refer you to plenty of instances where men have been righteously slain, in order to atone for their sins.... I have known a great many men who left this Church for whom there is no chance whatever for exaltation, but if their blood had been spilled, it would have been better for them..."This is loving our neighbor as ourselves; If he needs help, help him; and if he wants salvation and it is necessary to spill his blood on the earth in order that he may be saved, spill it... That is the way to love mankind." (Deseret News, Feb. 18, 1857; also reprinted in Journal of Discourses, vol. 4, p. 219-20)

There are outward similarities that you mention but you are wrong in some of your statements and there is a good reason for some of the similarities.
First, Joseph was not a womanizer. Plural marriage was something he was commanded to do and only did so very reluctantly. He never took another man's wife. He used that as a test to try the other man's faith and obedience. The woman was returned before any taking ever took place because all Joseph needed to know was whether the man was willing to sacrifice or not. This is similar to Abraham being required to sacrifice Isaac. The Lord stopped the sacrifice when it was clear that Abraham was willing to obey.
Joseph was a hard working man who labored all his days for his own support. He was never a "con man" or a treasure seeker as the apostates try to claim.
Joseph's army was the Nauvoo legion that was started for their own defense against the mobs that constantly persecuted the saints. That legion never fought any battles, even at the time of Joseph's martyrdom.
Now the reason for some of the seeming similarities is because there are two forces at work in the world; one for good and the other for evil. The evil force is always actively copying the good force. Thus, where there is genuine revelation from God, there will also be false revelation from the adversary. Where there is true doctrine, there will also be false doctrine. Where there is righteousness, there will also be wickedness. There must needs be opposition in all things. Without opposition, we cannot exercise our agency to choose to obey God or follow the adversary in disobedience to God.
I testify to you that Joseph Smith was and is a true prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is true scripture and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Kingdom of God on the Earth.

Well I don't know a lot about Mohommad- but you need to get your facts straight on Joseph Smith. You can't be posting made up information and passing it off as fact. Even if you don't agree with either religion- make sure you get your facts straight before you go spouting you ignorance for everyone to see.

I am not even going to begin to tell you where you are wrong, because if you cared, you would have verified your facts with a reliable source.

For the correct information on Joseph Smith and the LDS church, I invite you to visit, www.Mormon.org

Rac- has the correct information.
