He owes me $2,000 and I do not want to break it off until he gives me money. Forgetting about the money is NOT an option.

Well don't stay with him for the fact that he owes you money, most likely he will never pay it. You are gonna have to take him to small claims court. My ex owed me $5000 and after a year i am still trying to get it back. I don't mean to be mean but i hope you learned that letting your boyfriend and money just do not mix. I had to find out the hard way. I hope everything works out for you and you can get your money back. But please do not stay with him just for the money. Life is too short!

You never have to keep a loser around just because he owes you money. That's a sure fire way for him to think he can stay in your life. Ice him immediately and then take him to Small Claims Court. Who knows, you might get asked to appear on one of the court shows if the case is "juicy" enough. Please make sure you have some kind of proof that he owes you. It could be your word against his.

I had the same problem, why subject yourself to the wretchedness of the relationship just for some money. Get the proof you need together and take him to small claims if you really need the money. If he doesn't have a job, well you invested in a real loser and therefore you lose.
Wish you'll learn your lesson, and just get rid of him.
Good luck,
Mariah

While you are on the good side with him, have him sign a contract. Then if he doesn't want to pay, break up with him, carry him to small claims court, preferably judge Judy who will then give him a good scolding, you have your money back and everybody is happy (except for your ex).

Take him to small claims court, you do not even need a lawyer, just a few dollars to file a complaint.
That might take a few months to resolve the issue.
If he doesn't show in court or refuses to pay, then you might need to forget about it.
It's a lot of cash, but really, in the end is it worth all the aggrevation?
Anyway, try court first.

write up a contract that has a payment plan ie. $167 a month for a year or whatever and then get him to sign a few copies. That should be a legally binding iou. Then he will have to pay because if he doesn't you can sew him. Once he signs that break up with him and make sure he pays.

Hey ask him for your money back. Or take something of his that is worth way more. If he pays you return it or take him to court your choice.
