Most were Lutheran. That was the most prevalent religion in Germany. Though, later, the Lutherans had a bit of a falling out with Hitler. The Catholic church also supported them.

The Nazi's were not sanctioned by the Pope. In fact he was one of the only ones who dared to speak out. This is a misrepresentation of Catholicism at the time that just seems to never go away.
"The voice of Pius XII is a lonely voice in the silence and darkness enveloping Europe this Christmas... he is about the only ruler left on the Continent of Europe who dares to raise his voice at all... the Pope put himself squarely against Hitlerism... he left no doubt that the Nazi aims are also irreconcilable with his own conception of a Christian peace." The New York Times editorial on December 25, 1941 (Late Day edition, p. 24):
As far as I know the Nazi'w were not associated with any religion, or even with God in anyway. Hitler was evil through and through.

They were occultic. Hitler was brought up in the Catholic Church, but he was NOT Catholic, and the Pope gave him no authority to carry out the Holocaust. The Holocaust was not motivated by religion; rather, it was done for economics. Jews rapidly moved into Germany and purchased land, and when Hitler demanded they leave, many did not. And then Hitler went crazy, and things went down from there...
Hitler's anti-Jewish propaganda is parallel to America's modern anti-Islamic propaganda.

People are baptized in different religions but that does not mean that are truly catholics protestants, or whatever. Hitler was born in a catholic family but that does not make him catholic, not even christian, nor human...just pagan and evil. In the communism the freedom of religion was denied, they were just atheists

It started using the vitriol and words of Christianity, but they developed a sort of Cult based on race supremecy. Hitler was a Christian at the beginning, but in the end, they stopped using the language of Christianity and even oppressed some churches that got in the way of their total suppremecy.
