Personally, I think as long as you don't try to come across as being a doctor, all this forum is, is a place to share opinions. There was some fool in the animals section who added to every one of her posts "I'm a vet". It was so apparent from her answers that not only was she definitely not a vet, but not even someone who would be hired to work in a vet's office as a receptionist. If you led someone to believe from your answer you were a doctor, some folks will believe anything they read.

If you really want to help, continue to offer advice but maybe phrase it like this "My suggestion would be" or "In my personal opinion, I believe..." or even just say, "I'm not a doctor but from my experiences, I have found that xxx works".

There are alot of people on this forum who just type the first thing that comes to mind and give no thought into what they are saying and have no idea what they are talking about. I think it's up to individual readers to take information from this site with a grain of salt and look at things as suggestions only.

Thanks for being a concerned person who truly wants to help.

Nobody can hold you responsible for what somebody on a public forum does and no one can truly predict what a person will or won't do but for your own piece of mind, Let it be known your response is opinion. Keep your responses to encouragement, do not think that emphasizing or sympathizing with negative entries helps them feel less alone. Depression and hostility are indications of a need for professional help and may be facilitated by bad things happening to them but enhanced by substance abuse. Do let them know it is okay to seek professional help and getting that help is not a sign of weakness. Do not under any circumstances give your personal info, email, text, cell or tel #'s, address etc., you could be asking for trouble.
P.S. yahoo makes it available, use the spell check.

If the site you are referring to is Yahoo Answers, then it's a public forum and "opinions" are asked for in a general questins and that doesn't make you liable, if you are talking about a Help Center Site that you set up for this puirpose then be very careful!

This is an opinionated site. I dont see how anyone can blame you for a decision that someone else made. As long as you are not claiming to be a licensed doctor I dont think you will have a problem. Relax.
