think every one has had their time at breaking one or more of them, the only thing you can do is repent by confessing your sin and ask God to forgive you, and believe that God has forgiven you and go on with your life and just do the best you can do at not breaking anymore. No you won't go to hell if you have God's forgiveness

Here is a bigger question: WHICH 10 "Commandments"? (they are not called commandments in the bible)

It's amazing how many people don't know, or ignore the fact that there were TWO sets of stone tablets!

Don't believe me? Read both Exodus 20 (the tablets Moses broke) and Exodus 34 (the second set, with....different commandments???).

Then, just to make things more confusing, try reading the different TRANSLATIONS of the 10 Commandments:
Protestant, Catholic, Hebrew

Whew! Exhausting!

Dear ih8spam,

When one breaks one of the commmandments, he has transgressed the law of God. This is called "sin."
Only 1 sin is required for a person to be sentenced to eternity in hell but we all have comitted thousands, perhaps millions of sins. The only hope for one to escape the judgment of eternity in hell is to find someone who will take your place. There is only One person that can be that "substitute" and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is both God and man. However, He did not pay the sin penalty for every person that ever existed. He paid the sin debt for those whom the Bible refers to as the "elect." These "elect" were chosen by God befroe the world was ever created (Ephesians 1:3-5).

We do not know who these "elect" are but God does. The Bible also tells us that God is no respector of persons, so all of mankind is on level ground when it comes to God's salvation program. If you would like further information, Google my sources.

I hope this will help you.

This depends on whether or not you are under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, having been born again. Outside of Christ, the next question to ask is whether or not one has been exposed to the Law of God.

The Christian will not be judged according to the Law, but will be given grace since the Law was satisfied.

Those who have been exposed to the Law, outside of Christ, and break it, will be judged by the Law, and the Law knows only justice, no mercy.

All mentally well persons have a conscience, and the work of the Law is written on the heart. Such as these will be judged by their conscience insofar as their conscience convicted them of the difference between right and wrong. All such persons will be found guilty of sin, and not having been born again will be dealt with according to the Law they understood but did not keep, and there will be no mercy.

If you kill someone the civil authorities will prosecute you and you will be rightly punished. If you tell a lie consequences vary from ruining someone's life to sparing hurt feelings. If you commit adultery you must take whatever consequences may arise from that, which may be grave, or may be zero. If you covet your neighbour's ox, sod all will happen.

not necessarily. i've been taught that if you break one of the 10 comandments, you are in mortal sin, and your relationship with God is very hurt. you must go to reconciliation before receiving communion, to restore the broken relationship. you must then vow to try not to commit the sin again. you don't immediately go to hell, God is not a God of vengeance. He has a lot of mercy for us, his children. For us to go to hell everytime we sinned would require us to be perfect in order to go to heaven, and God does not expect that. He forgives us and expects us to keep trying, which is all we can do.

No

You hurt yourself. The 10 commandments were given to us for our own benifit.

According to the book of Exodus, God commands that people who do not keep the Sabbath holy should be put to death.
