I don't have the stickers on my car. I do have, however, a US Military Retired ID card, a son in the Coast Guard, and a nephew in the Marines.

Excuse me but that's not how recruiting offices work. I work for The Veterans of Foreign war and in doing so come across many recruiting officers. Don't worry we still have men and women joining they don't have to beg people to join. They enlist because they know that we are fighting terrorism and protecting our land.
So if you think that it is a "recruiting station" maybe you are driving by the wrong building maybe what you are driving by is a gas station and with the prices of gas that's why you don't see long lines.
I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

Liberal malcontents in the military, never again! I served my 1st year with the last of the draftees, those smart misfits whose constant whining was EVERY NCO's biggest headache, always undermined discipline and morale. The really amazing thing is how many do volunteer, given the paltry educational benifits, compared to the old GI Bill. If Clinton had not cut so many divisions, we might have a more reasonable duty rotation cycle for these young men.

If more of you little liberal hand wringing mommas boys would step up the lines might be a little longer....but knowing your type the military would not be interested in recruiting you. They still have strict policies against recruiting bed wetters, nose pickers and anyone with gender identity issues which leaves you out.

How about you support your backhanded anti-war arguments with facts, instead of meaningless anecdotes?
The U.S. Army Recruiting Command (which recruits the majority of American "bullet stoppers") met 101% of its recruiting goal for FY 2006, and is at about 107% of its year-to-date goal for FY 2007. Every major branch of service, with the sole exception of the USN Reserve (an admittedly dismal 87%), met darn near 100% of its goals last year (Highest = USAF Reserve was at 106%; Lowest = U.S. Army Reserve at 95%).
Furthermore, recruiting is only HALF the equation. The other half is retention rates, i.e., the number of people who renew their enlistments or commissions. The U.S. Army, USAF and USMC *ALL* met or exceeded their retention goals for FY 2006. Only the USN fell behind, primarily because of increased emphasis in the Navy on physical fitness standards.

Maybe the ones with the tags or ribbons have a child in Iraq or surrounding area. Maybe they are supporting the troops not the cause.
