do guys like girls that have many common likes/dislikes or girls that are the complete opposite? Explain please!

Complete opposites work well for short, very passionate relationships. A long term relationship usually requires some similar interests. So, it could depend on what you are looking for.

Every girl is different, No 1 person can really say for sure. With some women I dated, opposites attracted me and for others they didn't. Personally I would find it cool if a girl listened to the same type of music & liked some of the same types of food (or at least willing to try something at least once). Those are the basics, It's not a requirement but it would make things a little easier. Religion is important to me, especially if the girl is wifey material.

I think the answer is a combination of both...
With my gf now, we were first attracted to each other due to what we have in common. With this, it helps us explore something we both like together and enjoy it.
And she is opposite in many ways. This is not necassarily a bad thing. When we have conversations, we have two different opinions on a lot of things and challenge each other to think differently. Being diverse helps keep individuality in a relationship.
I mean, come on... how boring would it be to be with someone that is exactly like you? It would be the same thing over-and-over again.

I prefer to date a girl that has the same likes/dislikes as myself. That helps with building a common ground for a stronger relationship.

it depends (i do say that a lot) on how the personalities mesh --- you could be complete opposites or you could have many things in common
