This week is the week that we honor all those in Law enforcement for all the sacrifice and dedication they bring to their communities. To my husband: I love you and I am so proud of you. To the other officers out there, you have my respect and admiration you all are true heroes. Thank you.

Question? o.k. here is one.....what will you be doing to honor this day/week?

First, I'd like to join with you on your sentiments and thank all police officers and their families for the sacrifices they make on a daily basis.

To answer the question though, my husband's department sent a group of police families to the memorial in Washington DC yesterday. A local officer (not from our department) was added to the wall yesterday and we felt it was important to show our support. On Saturday, our own Department will be having a ceremony to present awards to an officer who was shot last year and survived and also to lay flowers at our local memorial for all of the retirees who have died this past year.

Personally, I have tried to incorporate my 4 yr old son into several "remembrance" activities this week by explaining to him the importance and danger of Daddy's job, and then together, planting red, white & blue flowers in the yard and hanging a Police Officer banner in our garden also. It is important to remember all of those officers who give of their selves so unselfishly. And also remember their families who support them through all of the horrific events, danger, and sacrifices.

Thank you for your question, and thank your husband for his service!

Will be taking members of the family who are in law enforcement out to dinner and thanking them for their dedication to a sometimes difficult job to help keep us safe.

Last year we sent a contingent to D.C. including myself. This year we sent a wreath.
A VERY strong experience for all of us that went, and I highly encourage every Officer out there to attend at least one memorial week in D.C.
We all may wear different color uniforms, but underneath we are all blue.

i personally would take time to thank all of our police officers for their sacrifices and dedication and to their families. it is very demanding job and thankless. it is very hard to deal with people and their corky ways of thinking that is if they are thinking at all or they think they can ignore the laws of the land or carry a gun or bomb and shoot or blow up innocent people or property that isn't theirs. i go to the va hospital every month and holidays and take little goodies for my veterans to thank them for my freedom that i cherish. police officers are in the same category and we as a nation need to say THANK YOU to all for their commitment to protect the innocent and taxpayers and for the freedoms that we take for granted.god bless everyone of them and come home safe at the end of your shift. and most of all thank you.

First of all thanks for the support. I am in the firing squad for a 21 gun salute for a fallen officer during this past years. I am an officer in Illinois. Good luck to you and yours.

Gee, I don't know. After seeing so many bad cops (and prison guards) of late, including personal experience with a few real "winners" . . . my affinity and support for law enforcement has declined considerably.

Yes, I know, there are some out there that are very good. But there are others who are only a badge width away from prison.

EDIT: I must've struck a very real nerve with my observations. Too bad an honorable career has become like all others in government: corrupt.

thats what answer all of you high on horse cop retards gave me.

I will keep packing my heat for my own protection and will not depend on a jelly to help me out.
