I love how they say that Lot didn't know what he was doing because he was so drunk - if he was that drunk, nothing would be working and he wouldn't have been able to have sex with his daughters. What pervs

Stereotype alert! Stereotype alert!
I'm a Christian. For one thing, I've never heard a two hour sermon about Lot's daughter in my life, and I've been attending church for well over 20 years. For that matter, I doubt I've heard any sermon whatsoever on that story. Most of the stories you are discussing most Christians don't talk to their children about until we feel they are old enough to understand. In other words, on the whole there are few little kids out there hearing about Judah and the prostitute or the sin of Onan... or David's bringing 500 foreskins to King Saul, another of my personal favorites. Very strange story. Probably not kid-appropriate.
As far as the Joshua story is concerned, aside of the fact that she IS a prostitute, prostitution has nothing to do with the story. The point is that even someone from a lowly background can rise up and become an important part of God's plan. As far as the kids asking what a prostitute is, what do you tell YOUR kids when they ask this sort of question? You tell them the basic truth. There is nothing wrong with telling them what a prostitute is.
That said, I also could care less about supposed phallic symbols in Disney movies OR the purple teletubby. All Christians don't overreact to these things. Stereotyping us is not a very good way to understand the differences between Christians and other people, no more than it is a good thing that some Christians stereotype others. I know a lot of us do, and that is likely why you are here, but it is not true of all of us. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I really do not know where these blanket statements come from. I have never heard a two hour sermon about Lot's daughters. I know of no Christians, myself included, who have an issue with the purple teletubby. In fact everyone I know, Christian or otherwise, laughed uncontrollably when that came up years ago. I do not know what phallic symbol you are referring to, so obviously it was well hidden enough that I didn't notice it either. Yes, some Christians are nut jobs and spew fire and brimstone crap. Some atheists are nut jobs, some wiccans are nut jobs, some Buddhists... you get the point.
Many Christians choose to give their children abridged Children's Bibles until they are old enough to comprehend some of the above mentioned stories. To assume that Christians shun the teletubbies and instead sit about reading tales of incest and murder to their children is just plain wrong. I attended Christian academies for most of my early life and these stories were never discussed with us because they are not appropriate for children. I challenge you to give me one example of a Holy text that, from beginning to end, is "family friendly."

The bible itself is an attack on womankind - you know - the ones that bear all the children that men rule over. Satan attacks the women in the beginning - and is still persueing her in Revelation - the end of the book. The bible is hate mail to women. Would men be able to screw up the world so good if women did not believe in the role that men told her she should have? The world is made up of 52% women. What would happen if we didn't believe that claptrap anymore, and stood against all that bullshtt?

Have you no problem letting your child watching TV (sex and crime)?
Most children have a bible for children without your stories about the spies and the prostitute, but with stories about Jesus and His love.

Who in the world told you that we as Christians do this?
You might get your facts straight before generalizing to this extreme extent.
Our children do not study those passages.
Peace!
