There is no lending money, never expect it back. If you were ok to give him this money and the relationship end, would you regret doing so?
If yes, then don't do it.
Is his money shortage a short term thing, is it hibitual or is he poor with money.
These things should all go into your decision.

I don't see to big of a problem lending him money..as long as it is cash...no mixing credit (you can always recover money but credit can follow you for a lifetime) don't wipe out your savings and don't touch you retirement (don't know if you work and have that going on...but it is a common spot for people to go into when they need money) you can loan him a small amount for like a down payment on a used car that he gets with his credit (DO NOT SIGN A LOAN OR CO SIGN SO HE HAS THE INCOME LEVEL FOR A CAR THAT HE CAN'T AFFORD) after you two work out a budget...test it for a couple of months...and see if it works out...good luck

It is never a good idea to lend someone, even your boyfriend, that much money. What if something comes up where you may need that money (emergency or whatever) and he can't pay you back for some time. You may end up regretting it or blaming him even though you don't intend to. What happens if you lend him this money and you two break up (trust me it can happen unexpectedly). You might never see you money again. Is it really necessary for him to have a car? what has he been doing for transportation before? If you have a car then there shouldn't be a problem of seeing him.

Dont do it. Besides if he is a respectable man he would never take it anyway. There are other ways to get a car like a loan. Or maybe he just has to use public transportation or bike for awhile. You would drain yer savings and then what if somthing happens to you?
Its a bad idea. If his situation is that bad he will prolly never pay you back.

I've seen this happen lot's of times. And i'm not trying to discourgae you beacuse i think its great that you love him and want to see him back on his feet. Just make sure that if you intend on having him pay this back you have a verbal as well as written agreement that he will. This will save your butt trouble if you should ever happen to break up. If this is somthing you are doing out of the kindness of your heart then if you do break up please dont go on the peoples court and sue him for it.! Just becarefull and dont do somthing you'll regret! GOOD LUCK

Don't do it. If you break up you'll never see it again and have no proof you gave it to him. It's nice of you to want to help, but this is something he has to do on his own. Tell him to get a loan from a bank.

No way, Jose. That is a good way to end a relationship, why do would you want to do that. If you feel that you have to do this, please be careful. You are not married to this guy. Love is one thing, but money is another. But, then again most fools do part with their money.

i would not do it .sounds like he is trying to live past his means.there might be somethings that he is spending money on that he doesn't really need.try to set him up on a budget to optimize his cash flow .so he is not spending more than he is making.
