At home, I guess I do, but it's under the pretense of "tasting".
At work, I'll taste a completed (or almost completed) dish, to check for seasoning, etc. We use disposable plastic spoons and forks, specifically for that purpose...they get used once, then thrown away. But I am honestly not trying to savor or enjoy the food, for the sake of dining; I'm just judging whether it's ready to serve to other people.
When I'm preparing food at home, though, there are no rules. If I'm chopping vegetables, I'll munch on raw pieces of it, to make sure it's fresh. If I slice some cheese for lasagna, I'll usually slice a couple more slices than I need--accidentally, of course--and I'll end up eating them.
I don't think it's a bad thing...it was my food to begin with!

Everybody know that snacking is the right and privlige of the chef. Chefs from Escoffier to Julia Childs all agree that that is the perk of cooking.

Too much! So much that I only eat a teeny bit of dinner when I serve it! And then I get "Aren't you hungry??" or "That's all you're having??" It's like, I've already been eating!

If you eat a spare bit of garlic while cooking with it, you
have to wait ten minutes after you crush it, or else you don't get all the health benefits.
