A Christian is literally a Christ-follower. Christians strive to pattern their life after the example of Jesus Christ. As iron sharpens iron, so Christians "sharpen" one another (keep one another accountable). The best way to address the misconception that "everyone is a Christian" is to be as Christ-like as possible: to lead, teach, and encourage by example.

1. A Christian is someone who believes in the teachings of Christ. This can cover many different kinds of beliefs and types of people, but the consistent factor is believing that Jesus was the Son of God.

2. A Christian's life SHOULD be one that follows the teaching of the Gospel. Rule #1: Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and body. Rule #2: Love your neighbor as yourself. That about sums it up. People debate the specifics, but you are asking a general question.

3. What do you mean "Where does the accountability play into it?" That is a rather vague question. Christians are as accountable (or should be) as anyone else. What is your point?

4. ??? Your last question doesn't make any sense. What "everyone's a Christian clause?" There is no such thing.

A Christian is a faithful follower of Christ. The face of Christians or a Christian must be the face of Jesus Christ, meaning he must be another Christ to others, a living witness of Jesus Christ. Every Christian must be able to say this phrase as St. Paul did, "I live now not I but Christ lives in me." "My life is Christ." Accountability of every Christian rests on his altruistic love during his whole life time. His/her daily question must be "Did I fill the world with love my whole life through?" "Who is my brother?..." And the general question which will be asked of each Christian at the final analysis is, "I was thirsty and you gave me drink, hungry and you gave me something to eat, imprisoned and you visited me...,etc. Sorry, there is no such thing as "a Christian clause, that America has going on...?" If you are not therefore at peace with some comments from others, I would suggest that you leave the comments outside. Keep your heart free from what is harmful for comments are outside you. Entertain pleasant and useful comments or as you call it like "Christian clause" Enjoy your stay on this beautiful planet, the earth and make the most of your life for life is worth living for and life is beautiful. You'll never regret if you have done wonderful things in your life. "Love and let love dwells in your heart..."

A christian is a person that has put their faith and trust in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for them on the cross. He died for their sins, He was buried and took their sins away and He rose again the third day for their justification. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 4: 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. A Christian should have a renewing of the mind. They should know that they are the temple of God because the Holy Spirit now lives within them. Many people say they are Christian but they are not. Church should teach their people to take accountability and stand up for what the Bible teaches.

A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus Christ is God's Son who came to earth, died, and was resurrected in order to provide atonement for our sins, so that we can be with him forever.

Christians believe that Jesus, prior to returning to heaven, told them to take this news to everyone in the world. However, some Christians apparently have resorted to berating anyone who does not share their viewpoint.

Do the actions of Christians go against what they teach? Sure, they do. I don't know anyone who can uphold their values 100% of the time. That doesn't mean that Christians don't recognize that they're wrong. And, of course, just because you're a Christian doesn't mean you're not a jerk.

I'm a Christian, but you'll never find me trying to force my beliefs on anyone else. I'll respectfully answer any real questions that you have about my faith, and then let you make your own decision.

A real Christian is someone who has put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ. A real Christian is one that realizes that nothing they can do will be good enough to earn salvation and good standing with God so they simply trust in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ Christ on the cross. A person who is a real Christian will have at list some and hopefully all of these characters...love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. Like Jesus said we are to love God first and then love each other. That is what a real Christian is.

Someone that believes in Christ. The way someone may choose to be, or act, being a Christian (or not for that matter) is a different thing. And the endless need to lecture other people and tell them how they should lives, comes from fear and human misunderstanding, and not from one's beliefs. And other interests as well that have nothing to do with spirituality.

1. A Christian MUST believe that Jesus is God.
2. A Christian MUST believe in the oneness of God (trinity)
2. A Christian MUST believe believe the words of God (Bible)
3. A Christian MUST believe salvation is by grace though faith alone
4. A Christian MUST allow the Holy Spirit the Lordship of their life. (Being a work in progress conforming us to the image in Christ.)
5. A Christian MUST stand up for their Faith lifting Christ up to the world.

If anyone doesn't accept these simple tenants of our shared faith they are NOT a Christian... Jim

I am a Christian.

I am accountable for what I do.

I do not believe everyone is a Christian or America is a "Christian" nation or ever was.

that is hard to answer
we are suppose to be:
1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

and our lives are to mirror this, more than once I have had someone not ask but tell me I am a christian because they could see that is even how I dress, funny because when they said they were one too I could not see than in them. how we look and act is just as important in our daily walk with Jesus as the rest of living for GOD, we where never meant to dress as harlots or bums, but as saints, I as this to compare our dress to that 100 years age most would be considered not even dressed at all.
