This question is completely dependant on the individual you ask.
You might as well ask if the average person on the street is mentally unmotivated and wants fast answers to everything...
Some people want fast answers, some don't. Same is true with Christians.
If you want my opinion-- Some Christians are, some are not. Depends who you are talking to.

Mentally unmotivated...hmmm...I know some people who won't hold down a job who are mentally unmotivated!!! Nothing to do with religion thought. The bible I would say is not fast answers. Try reading the KJV and not get confused on somethings and have to go to other scriptures for understanding. Also, there are simplified editions of the bible. What is wrong if people are living by a doctrine that says do unto others as you would have them to do unto you? I don't think living by the bible is a bad thing. People needed some type of structure. Its just telling how we should treat each other. I think beating people over the head with it is wrong!

No, I don't agree. Many christians are just people suffering from the indoctrination they experienced as children. As adults, they can't help but to believe.
No one really looks to the bible for an answer. They decide on an answer already, and use the bible to justify it.

Aye, and I like to think of christianity as fast-food for the spiritually boring, to fill the hunger we all feel to find purpose and meaning. After all, there seems to be a McChurch on every corner serving up the same tripe day after day. Chew on that one bible-burpers. LOL

I am not addicted to the Bible. You make assumptions and generalizations about Christians and it shows your limited knowledge regarding the wide range of people and beliefs that are part of it.

I have made the same observation too. For some this is an exclusive motivation, for others it's part of the motivation, and for some it isn't any part of the motivation. The answer is humanly diverse.
It's a good challenge for everyone to ask themselves honestly about when and why they stop looking for answers.

As A Born-Again Christian, God has "ALL" the Answers In His Word, I Do Believe. I go to Him For my answer to anything and everything. I Just want the RIGHT Answer! And Oh Yes,..........I Always Get It. I Love Jeremiah: 33:3 " Call To Me, I will answer you, and Show you great and MIGHTY things, which you know Not..........."What a beautiful Promise! I wouldn't say mentally unmotivated. Hardcore evangelicals spend hours pondering over single passages in the bible.
I would more characterize them as logically challanged.
