Yup the Pagan Europeans and Germanic Tribes slaughtered by the Holy Roman Empire were "secretly longing" to be Christians too.
The millions of Africans violently colonized and disadvantated and enslaved were aching to be Christian too.
The Native Indians of the Americas and Caribbean were just LONGING to have their hands cut off and forced to be Christian too.
The statement is just as preposterous as when certain Christians tell you, "I KNOW deep down you REALLY want Christ in your life! You KNOW you do!"
It's like an obsessive controlling man who thinks he can get a woman to like him by using a combination of violence and emotional brainwashing.

Yeah.. Didnt you know? It was mentioned in their ancient writings. "...And more than anything our society longs for some pale skinned barbarians to come to our shores, polute our land, rape the earth of its minerals, give us an exciting array of diseases, ravage our women, then call us 'Godless' and force us to their way of life on pain of death. We will combat this of course by introducing them to our fine white trance powder, and watch them kill each other for it for the next thousand years. Big laughs... Many years from now, they will also thank us for chocolate- of course by that time our culture will have been obliterated, but hey- who wants to live forever?"

They were also silently longing for smallpox and alcohol that their bodies can't process. Wasn't it nice of us white folk to give it to them??? :)

That makes about as much sense as saying they were longing for smallpox.

Yeah, and I'm sure the slavery that was OK'd by the Bible was one of their "silent longings" too.
