Some other being that is “bigger”, more mature and power will get totally sick of his petulant childish whining, rants and demands and just kick his butt four ways from Sunday?

Would you really want to be on his side when that happens?

Wow. A whole lot of bitter, angry christians on-line today. Still, I expect as much when presented with a question that tries to force you to rethink your premise. This god you pray to could theoretically be, relatively, a young child....certainly some of the bible stories sound like a child having a tantrum. Maybe he's a small part of a bigger collective, where their concept of time is considerable different from ours?

Why wouldn't this be just as plausible as some single, all-powerful entity that creates a universe just so he can send people who don't like him to eternal torment? Does that really make sense to any of you??

And for that matter, why is believing in science and evolution a harder premise to swallow? To me, it's by far the only premise that makes sense. There is no god people...stop believing in fairytales. And if you must believe in myths, then at least open your mind a bit!

Seriously, when you are proven wrong in your mind and are standing bfore our God.. I hope he doesn't kick your butt six ways to Sunday for YOUR petulant, childish whining, YOUR RANTS, and demands... .

Then who's side would you WANT to be on? Oh but at that point it would be too late...

Grow up, wake up and get some knowledge

There are no other "bigger beings"...by bigger beings I am assuming you mean bigger gods...there is one God who governs our universe and if you feel that his requests are "petulant childish whining, rants and demands" then that is between you and him.

God exists, I am not worried about being on his side and I have already been around a lot of childish whiners who rant and spread hate.

Really? Like who? A pagan idol of a cow? Or maybe the so-called "Church Of Scientology and xenu?" Or maybe the wiccans and their forces of nature?

And the only childish rants are coming from yourself.

That's the Gnostic idea: the God of this world, Yahweh (aka Jehovah or Yaldaboath) is not the Supreme Being, but the ruler of this world who is flawed.

If you start from the assumption that "the God of the Bible" exists, then it is illogical to put forth the argument of some being greater than He.

If there ever was more than one god, don't you think they would have fought it out long ago so that today there would only be one left?
