No belittling intended. But what is the experience like?

It is the most wonderful experience for me.
For example: I was praying each day about a problem in my life for many years and one day I asked God, "Lord, I have been praying about this problem and I don't know what to do about it, how to handle it" and after I said that, God spoke to my heart with the words, "My child, I have already solved it"....
At that instant, I took a step back, still holding on to the problem and saw the big picture, He did solve it but I could not see it for worrying about it...
Another occasion: I was teetering on the idea of not being the Vacation Bible School Director anymore and I was bothered by it. Instead of asking God I tried to decide for myself. I was sitting by the lake one day and I decided not to do it for a few reasons. At that time, I asked God to help me. He said, "Teach my children"... He spoke the words right to me so clearly and boldly, it startled me at first. I did not question it anymore because He had a plan for me and His work. I did VBS and a child got saved that year... He does speak to the very core of your soul...

I haven't heard Jesus speak to me, there are times when I know that roads have been opened for me and I attribute those to God's leading.

I do know that when I have helped ppl understand God, or help them find Him, that the words I have typed in IM"s etc, were not my own after reading them. There were no way that I could have understood the magnitude of them at the time, and usually there is something there that just clues the other person into knowing God was there also.

I have always had a problem trusting God, long story, but lately, there have been things happening in my life, where I always have had someone show up at just the right time to help bail me out, situations like that. Where I know, that there is no doubts, God is watching over me.

If Jesus were to speak to me I suspect he would be talking about all the horrible things done in his name, & how people who call themselves christians cannot see how unchristian they have become through their non thinking religious bigotry, intolerance, & hypocrisy.
As an agnostic, I see Jesus as a man of compassion, decency & courage, who put his "money where his mouth is".
Even as such , I think I track more closely with some of his than his "followers".
Could be why he might choose to speak to someone like me
rather than a "believer"

It is very rare that Christians hear spoken words it is more usual that they hear the voice of truth and reason deep within, if you are in sin and hiding from it then the truth that comes from Christ will upset and challenge you to turn away from it, if you however are walking in the light of Christ and avoiding sin and disobedience then you will be filled with the peace of Christ, and His reasurrance will be in your whole being.

He speaks words of truth into my heart- first He shares His love with me, reminding me of His sacrifice for me. Sometimes He speaks words of conviction- but with no condemnation- which means I need to confess and repent - however He still loves me- Every day, He allows me to sit in His presence and listen- if we do not take the time to slow down- we will not hear Him.

It's crazy sometimes.
I agree with AdoreHim, he is amazing.
He speaks to everyone differently.
I was saved and he has spoken to me through hard times and good times. Sometimes through my weekness.
Most of the time its from other people.
I love it!
