answered it in a very nice and polite way...and then the person asking the question sends you an email ranting at you, because they didn't like the way that you answered??!!

yes i have, infact by people that just roam this section.. and not answer or question anything. one time, i got a good "go to hell" from a so called "christian" and after we had talked for a bit on how in the heck did i piss this person off..came to their knowledge that it wasn't meant for me, but for another person. they were so mad at this other person they couldn't see straight!!!

I've had that happen here and in other categories, too. I've also received gibberish emails that apparently have no point. I just wish I could sit at their elbows and see what's really going on with them! It seems to be in human nature to want to take pen in hand (or keyboard in lap) only when you disagree with someone.
Funny, when I was in Customer Service, our form letters got the most thank you's, while our personalized letters got the most rants and accusations of being form letters!
People are fascinating creatures. Mark Twain said the existence of monkeys is proof that God has a sense of humor. I think humans constitute evidence that God also loves a good mystery!

No, I've not encountered that. I've gotten emails telling me I'm going to Hell for not belonging to the Baptist Church, though.
Anyway, if you did truly respond with a nice and polite answer and got a crude email in return, shame on whoever sent you the email!

No but i've had people have a go via their answer but then don't have the decency to allow email so that you can respond privately, without having to bother others!!!

Yup, happens to me all the time. I typically get them from people just because I don't share the same ideas as them. Oh well. Par for the course I guess.

Oddly enough, I don't get many ranty emails, which, in all honesty, surprises me. But, just about daily, I get someone questioning my maturity on a perfectly reasonalbe question. Grrrr...

People have issues and also, insist on hearing what they want to hear. I had an account suspended on Yahoo! and feel it was because I was too nice.

I haven't had someone email me. but I have had peope give me thumbs down and stuff because I gave an answer they didn't want.
