DO NOT CONSUME HAM, PORK, EAT AN ANIMAL NOT SLAUGHTERED PROPERLY, DO NOT EAT FISH WITHOUT SKINS AND SCALES. This is not just some little thing you are putting in your body. It is something which effects and goes into the blood stream. Our soul is in the blood stream. When non-kosher food hits the blood stream, the evil inclination receives power thereby. A persons ability to do kindness, to feel godliness, holiness and the feeling of being a holy Jew gets diminished. Not to mention, we are all one. All of the Jewish people are connected.

According to Jewish law, pork is but one of the many foods forbidden from consumption. In the strictest sense, it is as forbidden as are horses and shrimp, no more, no less. There are gravest interdictions, like eating milk and meat together. However, pork has become the symbol for everything un-kosher, which calls for explanation. The general guidelines given in Leviticus are that a "walking" animal is kosher only if it both chews its cud and has cloven hooves. However, the pig is the only animal to have cloven hooves but doesn't chew its cud: its external aspect makes it appear kosher, while it is not, making it a symbol of hypocrisy.

They claim it is because a pig is an unclean animal but I think it is due to the uncanny taste between pork and human flesh. ( No I am not a cannibal but the name used for human meat is Long pork.)

In rabbinic tradition, the pig is unkosher because of its hypocrisy. While it flaunts an outwardly kosher appearance, stretching its split hooves for all to see, it hides its dark digestive secret: it does not chew its cud (kosher mammals must be split hooved-ruminants

In the old testament it is considered unclean and unfit to eat for the Jews.
See Leviticus 11:7 "And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you."

A pig is a filthy animal.
However, if it had a better personality, it would cease to be a filthy animal.
