NO!! even little chimpanzees are 3-5 times stronger than a human being, a gorilla is able to pick up a small compact car.
A gorilla would TEAR UP a human being.
Bulls are also herbivores, does that mean they are weaker?
A smaller brain would only mean less thinking and more instinct/action, that wouldn't help either.

The only way a human could ever beat a gorilla in a fight is with a gun, and being very far away. A human has 0% chance of beating a Gorilla in a fight. We are just not strong enough to compete with a gorilla, even one that was raised in a zoo. They don't need to be smarter than we are to rip our arms and legs off, not to mention our heads. So their herbivores, they still would kill a human in a fight. You could be the strongest human alive, with the best in all fighting skills and still would not stand a chance against a gorilla.

Wait. Your worded this very poorly (what does 7 billion people have to do with it, unless you mean ALL of us against all of them, which would be stupid). Do you mean a man and a gorilla, one-on-one? Without a weapon, it is possible, but highly unlikely. If you are talking about a full-grown, adult male, it is virtually impossible. They are twice as fast, have razor sharp teeth, and can literally pull your limbs off. An adult can weigh as much as 600 pounds! The smaller females still weigh well over 200. Even a gorilla in a zoo spars with the other gorillas, so that would have little effect. That said, if you managed to get a hold of a stick and poked it in the eyes, you might have a chance. The odds are HEAVILY against it. That is not an opinion. That is a fact.
You are obviously pretty ignorant on gorillas, in general. They are NOT herbivores, they are omnivores. They also do not have very small brains at all. The average gorilla brain is approximately the same size as a human brain.
All that said, I'd love to see you try it. It would make a great television special on Animal Planet. You might do ok against a baby, but I'd bet my life savings on an adult gorilla against you.

Final Answer! No! Head to head a human could not beat a Gorilla. I don't care if you are Fedor, Chuck, or Rickson Gracie. No man can match the speed or strength of a Gorilla. That being said, I think someone extremely skilled in sword or knife fighting may be able to kill a gorilla. But the chances would be very slim. That's why Man invented fire arms.

This is one of the age-old questions that has boggled man since the beginning. Whether or not a man could beat a gorilla in a fist fight. My opinion is no, gorillas are much stronger and faster than any man alive....it wouldn't be close

If it was zoo raised, then it probably doesn't have the same fighting experience as a gorilla in the wild. Even then, the gorilla would still have many advantages over a human in a fight.
There is a video on the internet about an orangutan that was taught martial art; it scares me. Apes and monkeys already have good balance; All they need is martial arts training and they'd kill us all.
However, I digress. If the human in question has more fighting experience than the gorilla, and was really really skilled in a martial art, the human could win. There are some videos on you tube that show really good capoeira practitioners; I think they'd be able to do it.
Show your girl friends dad the you tube videos on capoeira. One called "capoeria, prodigy" caught my eye. ANything with Bahia or batuque in the name is also good. Pay special attention to ones that have a mestre (master) in the title.
Explore these videos and present a good case to him. That'll take him off guard. Show how humans can be as good or better than many apes at physical skill.
ONe disclaimer:
Gorillas are very very gentle creatures. They are not really prone to fighting unless there is extreme danger around. The fight might not happen unless the gorilla was provoked very severely.

Yes it is possible however highly retarded to attempt. Gorillas do not understand the concept of a fight. Another point I would like to make is that there is no such thing a 'the strongest/best fighter in the world' there is always someone who can beat someone else. oh and dee dee dee!

There is no way,a man any man, can beat a gorilla, ,
The gorilla is probably 50 times stronger, he is much heavier, honestly I dont think any mans punches would affect him..
plus his bones, and skull, are much thicker than the mans.

I recall a real old Bruce Lee movie where they had this fight, and the Gorilla happened to know Kung Fu, which made the odds even more tilted against the man. But since Bruce Lee is dead, I dont know if anyone else has this capability.
