Judaism is 5667 years old--which means it started in 3660 B.C. So it isn't Islam, duh it's not Christianity Jesus was Jewish, and it's not Egyptian belief.

Animism is believed to be the oldest religion. It is a basic belief in the soul and that soul is present in everything living. This religion believed in gods as well as elementals.
It is unknown when Hinduism started, but it was shortly before Judaism.

Various forms of sun worship were likely the first "religions". For a religion based on "scripture" - Zoroastrianism is quite old, but it's actual year of foundation is debated. It has been called the oldest. Of the current major religions, Hinduism is the oldest and dates to a similar time period as the latest time period suggested for Zoroaster. The Egyptians were worshiping their gods possibly 10,000 years ago.
Judaism is NOT the oldest.

The oldest existing religion is Hinduism. This is followed by Sabeanism, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and the Baha'i Faith in order of when they were founded.
However, each of these is stages of one process of progressive revelation, which has been going on since early hominids first developed consciousness millions of years ago. It's a process that has no beginning and shall have no end. Each religion is a stage in one single process of revelation of God's will to humankind, differing in appearance, because of our limited ability to understand it. God's words are revealed according to our capacity to understand them.

Calling on the Lord began in the third generation of the human race with Enosh, the son of Seth (Gen. 4:26).
" And to Seth ( Adam and Eve's third son) also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time men began to call upon the name of Jehovah"
So u see my friend... I am not saying that " christianity' is the " religion " that started earliest, but a relationship between God and man started since the third generation of man. Enosh as we know walked with God and then " was not" ... he simply disappeared.
Calling on the Name of the Lord is the way we are saved as believers in Jesus Christ..
"For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Rom 10-13
also
"For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all and rich to those who call upon His name" Rom 10-12
Intersting isn't it!

Actually, human religion dates back to around 35,000 years ago. Neanderthals also appeared to have some belief in the after life.
