These damm libs preach to us about global warming but they turn around and drive their SUV's, fly in corporate jets that burn tons of fuel and our good boy Gore consume more electricity at his mansion far more than the average household. I've heard repub-pukes also preaching the global warming problem. People at the big picture, it's all about money and votes. Al Gore is geting richer by selling you carbon credits and soon both parties will profit from us, don't fall for their traps. In reality Dems and Pukes both suck, it's all about money now, there are no real politicians representing us, the working class.

You make a good point about practice what you preach. I do think though no matter if its democrats, republicans, or neutral, you are going to live the life style you are accustomed to . It take great will power to change and on a personal note, I try to help the environment, but it seems all I can really do is just turn off lights when not in use.
VEGAS - TURN OFF THOSE LIGHTS!!!

So - if 'Dems and Pukes both suck', why do you only accuse Democrats of being so fake on global warming?
The fact of the matter is that both political parties have ignored this serious problem for far too long. Had we spent the hundreds of billions of dollars on solving our world's environmental problems instead of fighting a stupid 'war' in Iraq, this world would be a lot further ahead.
Besides, this is an issue that can't be solved by politicians. "The PEOPLE" have to recognize the seriousness of the problem, and have to get off their lazy duffs and do something about it.
"The PEOPLE" have to stop driving $60,00 gas-guzzling SUVs and start driving more fuel-efficient compact cars; they should also pledge to use alternative fuels, use mopeds or bicycles, mass transportation, or maybe even try WALKING for a change!
Sure, it's all about money and votes. Everything in the corrupt, evil, arrogant, pompous-a*s world of politics is about money and votes.
And here's what will happen next: "big oil" will use their mutli-billion-dollar record profits they've earned by gouging us at the gas pump, and invest that money in all the new alternative fuels. BUT, they'll wait until the 'little guys' have risked all their venture capital on bringing the new fuels to market. THEN, they'll simply buy out all the 'little guys', raise the prices to ensure more profitability, and continue to gouge the American motorist.
I think your anger is misplaced: Al Gore isn't nearly as much of the problem as George Bush is. It's the Bush administration (headed by two former OIL men) that allows 'big oil' to make unheard-of PROFIT at the expense of you and me. It's Bush that is fighting a 'war' solely for the sake of'big OIL' and WAR PROFITEERING, which American taxpayers will be paying off for generations to come. -RKO- 05/16/07

I honestly think we should be asking why are all politicians so fake on global warming? The answer is simple - money. We all know that it's the lobbyists that pull the strings and make sure nothing is done to hurt their industry. The are always giving money under the table, trips and other sorts of nice expensive things to OUR elected officials. Until this practice is brought to an end, nothing beneficial for this country will be done in any way, shape or form be it global warming or health care or the social system.

dude, you are really bitter.

the democrats have been the only ones talking about global warming for the past decade. The republicans are the ones who wouldn't admit that it was even happening until this year. They won't sign the kyoto pact to reduce greenhouse gasses.

Personally, I'm biased against anyone driving an SUV regardless of their political affiliation. I think of SUV drivers as sheep, because they believe the propaganda spread by the car companies. In the early 80's when requirements for increased gas milage in cars was going into affect, car manufacturers lobbied congress for an exception for SUV's and trucks. These, the car companies claimed, were vehicles used on farms and for hunting. They shouldn't have to make them as fuel efficient as cars because they weren't anyone's primary vehicles. Well, they got the exemption. Then they poured 80% of their advertising dollar into these two types of vehicles. Now we face higher gas costs and fuel shortages because SUV and truck consumers have been duped by car manufacturers, who also happen to own most of the gas companies. They are making a profit on these low gas-milage vehicles that also pollute the earth!

One point I agree with you about is that it's all about money.

For either side, it is political expediency. Whatever will get the votes works.

Recently defeated Republican Representative Richard Pombo worked for years to try and gut the Endangered Species Act, but for self-serving reasons.

I totally agree with BookGirl, we are all doing what everyone
else is doing. We are contributing to global warming. We
are the ones who need to decide what we we should do
about it. Find out how to get involved in your area or in your
community. It's not only the Democrats, its both. I think one
wants to recognize the problem and the other is avoiding
the problem.Which i do believe that it is a serious problem.

because they're donkeys

EDIT

Why don't you try writing to Gore and other politicians and perhaps an editorial to your local newspaper since global warming is such a hot topic right now. I totally agree with you. My economics teachers encourages us to make our voices heard. If you heed help or something, I'd be obliged.

I just figured I should edit my answer since it wasn't very helpful before.

Their insincerity stems from an overbearing desire to score "political points."

These politicians truly believe in nothing other than obtaining power. Global Warming (TM) is just another unscientific distraction, a tool your elected representatives want to use to leverage against your constitutionally-protected rights.

Almost inspires another question--who is the last president who represented the working class? FDR? Andrew Jackson? George Washington?
