I have a 2000 renault laguna in which i have my bluetooth kit plugged into the cigarette lighter. If I leave this plugged in permanently, will this drain my car battery, even with the ignition off

Do U have to turn the ignition key to make the socket work (Pos I or II) ? If so, when U turn the ignition off it will not drain the battery. If the socket works all the time, then it will drain the battery. Hope this helps.

Most likely yes it will. I'm not too sure about the current drain, so I would think it would take a long time to drain a battery, but it is a current drain and sooner or later, it will cause the battery to go low and maybe to the point that it would not let you start the car. good luck

To prevent this, try changing the feed to a switched power point from another circuit.

It should not drain your battery because the car will cut the electrical flow to the cigarette lighter. You can test this simply by putting your cellphone to be charged and then turning off the car. You should notice that once you turn it off, the cellphone stops being charged.

yes, the lighter is a part of the circuit that works with the key off.

Should not , However is your blue tooth turned off?? It won,t take to much power good luck
