I had lasik 1 year ago and I highly recommend it. I was severely near sighted (-7.5). Recovery was not bad at all. No pain or discomfort, some blurriness and sensitivity to light for a few days. You are sent home with about 3 different eye drops that you will use several times a day for a few weeks. One side effect that I seem to have is sensitivity to sunlight and occasional dryness of the eye. I have to wear shades outside, which is doesn't bother me at all. It's a minor problem compared to not being able to see without glasses or contacts prior to my surgery. Good luck!

You go home within 30 minutes of the procedure. There is no pain. You must keep your eyes moist and avoid bright light. Sun glasses are provoded for you. A solution of antibiotics is dropped into your eyes (by you) sporadically. You go back within 24 hours for a check-up (just visual and an eye test), 1 week later, one month and 6 months. If you go to LAZIC MD, in Montreal, you will have virtually no problems as they have state of the art equipment and doctors who do hundreds of eyes each week. Highly recommended!!!
