I dont think they should be, I am doing my GCSE's now and if I didnt do them then I wouldnt be able to show what I am capable of, and if we had no exams then we would have no grades or qualifications.

If your grammar is the result of taking exams, then that would be a good argument against exams. Otherwise, it appears you might need to take more of them, not less.

They shouldn't. If they were, people may continue to misuse capitalization, pluralization, preposition and/or punctuation rules.
