Simple soulution would be to use an accent color and sponge over the top of the "royal blue", take a paint chip to the local sherman williams, or other paint store, and ask for a recomendation in your accent colors, will give a nice textured look when finished, and MUCH eaiser to do than re-paint everything

some times the lighting in a room can change the color of every thing.I would like you to try something, change the light bulbs in the the room ,use the spiral bulbs.than look at the room very carefully. The obvious thing here is to change the drapes and bedding. If you can change the drapes to white or a gold perhaps the room will look better. I think that the colors are beautiful, they are exactly the colors I would put in my bedroom.Another thing I remembered, before you take your drapes or comforter out of the store ,double check the color under different lighting.Iight blue is a pastel and deep shades of metalic just don,t seem to work. Unless they are toned down. I would shop around for navy blue or medium blue, I like to window shop ,check prices, material is the shade that I want. Somtimes getting what you want takes some patience lots of searching.

Sky blue and gold would look good w/ brown, but the two black chairs are clashing. They add one too many colors to the room. Since the floors are a shade of brown, go with that as your third color, use it in a couple other places, and emphasis the sky blue and gold. Good luck!

Add gold sponnged over the blue, like person above me suggested.
Or, add leaf or sage green.
Try peach. Change the light bulbs - if they make blue look purple, what are the people in the room going to look like?

What's the decorating style? I think coral or flamingo would give it a tropical/beachy feeling. If you're looking for something less bright, how about a chocolate?
