I would guess that those that say that, have an agenda of their own. They hate the current administration, or hate that we are in Iraq and Afghanistan ( and many other places). They may look at you as an enemy to their agenda of being anti-war. You are a soldier, they dont believe in war. I wish no one had to go to war but I would'nt tell anyone in the military they are going to die. That is mean, childish and hurtful. I would tell someone in the military, " Thank You" instead.
We all will die eventually. It is just some peoples childish way of striking back at what they perceive as their enemy.

You won't if you keep your weapon clean, shoot first and hit. A terrorist is more likely to die fighting marines than a Marine. The kill ratio must be 1000 to one.

Well, unfortunately lots of marines do die... I guess these people are just concerned about you but are going about in the dumbest way possible. Take care G.I Joe! ( I hope you come back alive and well.) P.S, I am Canadian and I support the U.S Troops and of course our Canadian boys who are In Afghanistan. God bless you all!

Because mostly everyone thinks that when you join the military especially the Marines that you go straight to war...They don't know about the different Job opportunities you can choose from, not just Infantry....

Listen to a person who is deployed ie me, They said the same thing to me and I am in the army. Why do they say that? Because your going to Iraq.
Please do not shoot anything that moves or two reasons
A. You'll miss and hit an American like me
B. You kill civilians and everyone in the world will know and it'll be a bad day for you. Then the army will have to clean your mess and send people like me because some marines are not discipline enough

you kidding me? they have the ballz to say that to a Marine? do they realize that you received some sort of training on how to neutralize a person in hand to hand combat? tell them if they have something to say to you that you'll handle it outside. Also because they're scared to be over there. Thank You for serving for us!

People say these things to try to prove they are right. Personally, I think you are not only going to live you are one of the few and the proud. Every person in the United States needs to say thank you to every person in the military.
Thank you for your service.
God Bless and Keep You. May His face shine upon you and grant you Peace.

Don't listen to anyone except your C/O. All these people here that say stuff like that do not have weapons in their hands.
My hat is off to you sir! I for one am glad you are there for me.
Thank you for you sacrifice.
