Wicca is a religion found in various countries throughout the world. It was first popularised in 1954 by a retired British civil servant named Gerald Gardner[1] after the British Witchcraft Act was repealed. He claimed that the religion, of which he was an initiate, was a modern survival of an old witchcraft religion, which had existed in secret for hundreds of years, originating in the pre-Christian Paganism of Europe. Wicca is thus sometimes referred to as the Old Religion. The veracity of Gardner's claims cannot be independently proven, and it is thought that Wiccan theology began to be compiled no earlier than the 1920s.[2]
Various related Wiccan traditions have since evolved or been adapted from the form established by Gardner, which came to be called Gardnerian Wicca. These other traditions of Wicca each have distinctive beliefs, rituals, and practices. Many traditions of Wicca remain secretive and require that members be initiated. There is also a movement of Eclectic Wiccans who do not believe that any doctrine or traditional initiation is necessary in order to practice Wicca.[3] The 2001 American Religious Identification Survey estimated that at least 134,000 adults identified themselves as Wiccans in the US.[4]

Wicca is a tradition (denomination) of the Craft. They believe in the God and Goddess and are very earth based. I'm not Wiccan but I know some ppl here are and will probably give you a much better answer. I follow Isis and Osiris. :)
Oh for Isis sake....we DON'T BELIEVE SATAN EXISTS. Satan didn't even come into knowledge until the Bible was written and paganism was around long before that. Satan is with in the Christian faith, not ours. How can we worship something we don't even believe exists??

I see you already got a couple of good definitions about my religion.
But I also see that people who doesn't know anything about it are misleading you by saying that we worship the devil, when we certainly DON'T worship the devil.
It is amazing how some Christians tell lies about Wicca, and they forget that the Bible clearly mentions that the liars will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Note: I must clarify that I said "some Christians" lie about what Wiccan beliefs are all about, because there are an increasing number of Christians who have found that we are not devil worshipers as their religious leaders have made them believe, and have began accepting us because we are no threat to anyone.
Some Christian leaders and I work together helping people, and they have learned to respect us Pagans and Wiccans, because we respect everyone and they were mistaken about us.
As a Baptist minister said when I was invited to one of their gatherings, "Pagans and Wiccans always conduct themselfs in the way Christians are supposed to do. It is incredible that they are not Christians, and set the example, and most of us Christians behave as if we were enemies of the entire world".

Wicca is a modern version of the oldest known religions kind of modified and adapted to today. There is no belief in the devil. They don't believe that the devil even exists. That's hard for the closed mind of christin to grasp. It is based on takking care of each other and the world around us. It is about balance and understanding the workings of the universe. No doom ,gloom or self loathing that Christianity promotes. It is a beautiful, valid and constitutionally recognized Religion. One last point. When watching the news when was the the last time any one seen a Wicca on the news for Drowning their kids for god, or blowing up a doctors office for god, or slamming a plane into a building for god. Ive seen the Ku Klux Clan quoting scripture. No wiccans there. They are peaceful and caring and the Christians have allot to lean. (Learn means find out for your self, not be live what your told to believe.

We're happy, is what we are!
No, we don't worship Satan. He's a Christian Concept, so doesn't exist if you don't believe that stuff.
We worship the goddess and the god in equal measure (though certain sections, eg Dianic are almost exclusively goddess centred) and both can appear in more than one guise (maiden mother crone, brigid, athena, freya, etc etc)
Looking after the planet is a large part of my own path, I'm a kitchen witch/hedge witch, so spend a lot of my time making nature cures to time honoured recipes. My elderberry ticture is excellent! (Though that could be the Vodka content..)

A 'Wiccan' is someone who is a Pagan following the witchcraft tradition.
Witches are not satanists. This little bit of 'spin' dates back to the 15th and 16th Centuries witchcraft trials hysteria. Traditionally, Pagans have a God with horns. He was a bit of a rascal (but nothing evil). 'Spin' was used to turn this God into an evil entity and through 'chinese whispers' quickly became the image of satan known today.

Don't know if you're still around Mr D W but as a practising Christian I obviously have a completely different slant on faith. However I do find that many who believe they are devout Christians show a distinct lack of love and forgiveness. To simply quote the bible ( and there are many different translations and interpretations ) without giving the words any thought or consideration seems to me quite uncharitable and at odds with the faith that thay are supposed to believe.
One particular bible passage that always made me think was Christ denying some who professed to know him for not following his word and accepting some who had followed his word but did not claim to know him. It's no use reading a book, any book without seeking understanding. Good luck and God bless however you percieve Him/Her/Them.

It is a disguise used by Satan for his purposes.
Witchcraft, Spiritism, and Sorcery
Indeed, Satan worship is not limited to direct worship of Satan by name. The apostle Paul warned: “The things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons.” (1 Corinthians 10:20) And demon worship is really the same as Satan worship, since Satan is called “the ruler of the demons.” (Mark 3:22) What practices of “the nations” can be identified as demon worship, or worship of Satan? God’s words to Israel give us some examples: “There should not be found in you . . . anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah.”—Deuteronomy 18:10-12.
