To get these supposed 'feelings' that there's a god?Have you ever heard a noise in a dark alley or your home & you get that feeling that someone is there? You don't even want to but you can even make out a shape of a human when in fact there is no one there at all? You turn the light on and you realise that you were being delusional-amazing thing the human mind isn't it? Christians, considering the undeniable traits of the human mind won't you admit that you are suffering from the same thing constantly?OK it is postive delusional-but it is delusion. Like when you're in love with a beautiful woman and the feeling seems to be with you all day?I can show you photos of her though?Where's your evidence? The evidence for non-existence coupled with man's desire for power through the ages and the human mind's ability to delude only point to one thing at the moment-not believing? When will you admit this?

Anecdotal evidence of a message from the unseen is overwhelming in its constancy.
Where is it then?!

pious&me-it is not ignorant to ask questions? It is ignorant to not want to know answers-what religon bases itself on. If I am wrong then argue your point-but you can't can you. Hence NOBODY has taken me on. How you can seriously not even allow for 1% error in your beliefs on any subject? That is ignorant and also narrow minded.

Oh dear you've messed up here love! That means you only follow the written word of the bible? You can never just trust any one book, esp when written hundreds of years ago by people 'hell bent' on keeping people within their own faith! you are telling me you trust one book 100% with no margin of error? The same book spread by the sword? Sound really reliable..

What I find strange is that they (you) in their enlightenment, do not. How can anyone possibly believe we, and everything around us, are the result of some random cosmic explosion of long long ago. One would think that any intelligent thinking person could look at the creation of God and know in their mind and heart that it was lovingly fashioned for you and me by God. .
I do not remember telling you that I thought we were part of an explosion? Just because I don't believe god created the world doesn't mean I know how it came to be. You, by that reasoning, has to say that 'I am this and he is that' I am fine with the fact that Iwill never ever know how the earth came to be, you the other hand are not therefore need to cling to a god of some sort.

Really? A delusion is a false belief-so a belief of sort. Therefore I do equate belief with delusion. I don't equate all belief with delusion, barring of course ,the deluded ones. This morning when I got out of bed I believed that the house was as I left it before I went to bed-no delusion there. I also believed there'd be no pedants on Yahoo Answers, that one was of course, a delusion..

hahaha beautiful question!!!
Or it's like sometimes at night your eyes play tricks on you while you lay in bed & you think you see things but they turn out to be outlines of your things and you turn the lights on to realize that the big scary monster is just your TV or a chair with a jacket draped over the back...... But in the dark you could swear that someone was there.. You are certain that when you turn the light on that you'll see some stranger standing there looking at you because you feel someone's there...... It's all the same thing!
The part that gets me is they attribute all good feelings to god, but when bad things happen.... Do they thank god for it? According to them all things are in god's will so they should be happy & thankful for ALL things..... death, illness.... etc.... if god wants them to be sick who are they to take medicines and get better? If god wants a family member to die who are they to take the person to the hospital to seek medical treatment & save that person's life? It's a double standard..... They want to go to heaven ASAP, but then.... when their god comes knocking on their door they don't want to die....
Edit:
I love the people who say "the bible warns us about people like you"..... The bible warns against ANYONE who is not a follower of christ so everyone who IS a follower of christ will REMAIN a follower of christ. The free-thinkers are evil because they will jeopardize your faith..... stay away..... The people who bring about peace & love may be the anti-christ, stay away & only follow god..... oooooooh scary.... stay away from nice & peaceful people, they're evil!! That makes a $hitload of sense, doesn't it???
Don't hang around the good & peaceful people because secretly they're the anti-christ.... even though their messages are peace & love.......ok sure.... I'll stay here & lock myself in a church with the christians who are liars, thieves, murderers, child molestors, rapists, and delusional fools instead of going out & enjoying the beauty of the world with the people who want peace & love & who care more about making our lives worth living instead of kissing god's @ss to score brownie points in the afterlife and be treated like a king in your house with golden roads. These people are SICK & delusional!! It's only a matter of time before they all crack and start killing people again in the name of their god because he wants all non-believers dead!! It's already happened several times..... it happens in all religions!
The ones who kill for their religions, ironically, are the true believers of their faith.... the ones who simply talk about the bible & come to Y!A to preach are the ones who, even though they BELIEVE, are going to the place they fear the most... Hell, because they are not true followers of their holy dictator. They've allowed the bible's laws to become outdated when jesus clearly states in that "good book" that not one of god's laws would ever become invalid. He said that heaven and earth would come to an end before any of god's laws would ever become invalid. So they're all a bunch of hypocrites who think that simply going to church & preaching on Y!A is the way to secure their place in heaven.
Ironically, none of them can decide whether it's faith alone that will get them to heaven or faith combined with works/actions that will...... their bible contradicts itself on this topic as well so it's truly hard to know what they need to do (or not do) to get into heaven.

If you equate belief with delusion then it must also apply to you; because belief is a human function which goes on daily. Without belief you could not frame your question or get out of bed in the morning.
Belief is simply any idea or concept upon which you might consider or be willing to act upon.
After reading some of the answers; may I suggest to you that many Christians don't know the difference between faith and belief and many atheists don't know the difference between belief and imagination.
Belief is a function of the mind and postulates over and over again what the senses report from the physical world. Faith is a primary function of the spirit and interprets what is seen in the spirit.
The physical world is not set up to prove the spiritual world. The physical world is a manifestation of the spiritual world. It is therefore part of the same fabric as well as a map of the unseen. Now you have a photo, a map of your girl friend. Until I meet her I must take your word that she exists. I have a Bible to show you and a friend in Jesus. Until you meet him you must take the book and my word that he exists.

Anecdotal evidence of a message from the unseen is overwhelming in its constancy. As to delusion - there is also denial. When the strange or unseen occurs, dismissal of its existence is the first response.

True Christians don't follow their feelings / emotions. We follow what we know to be true, and that is the Word of God. Christianity is based on faith ("blessed is he who believes even though he has not seen"), but for those of you who refuse to believe without proof, the evidence is found in the resurrection of Christ! Every other "prophet" is still rotting in their graves - but CHRIST AROSE and HE LIVES!
Btw - to the guy who posted above mine - the answer is YES. I DO thank God for the trials, because He walks through them WITH me and I come through them stronger and more spiritually mature. Rom 8:28 says that ALL things happen to the good of those who love God and who are called according to HIS purpose (caps mine). That means good AND bad. Gen 50:20 tells us that what Satan means for our harm, God will use for our good. We don't become strong Christians just because we make a trip to the altar. It's a LIFESTYLE and an on-going process. Each trial brings us closer to God, helps us "die to self" a little more, and prepares us for what is to come.

I don't HAVE TO, I just believe and worship my God ,The Allmighty , The One , The Self Sufficient Master, Who neither eats nor drinks, not begets, nor was He begotten, and there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.
I cant visualize Him , I can only see His creatures when my eyes see it,
It is hard to explain why I believe in God which is God of Abraham- God of Noah(a.s.)- God of Jesus(a.s)- God of Moses(a.s.)- God of Lot(a.s.)-God of Muhammad(s.a.w), God of all and any creatures,
If you dont believe, it doesn't matter.
If you think being a believer in God is stupid, it is OK, you're free to believe so.
My explanation will be different than yours :
For somebody who never taste a mango, no matter how I explain the taste , he/she can not taste a mango. I can say it is nice, doesn't taste like apple but taste like mango. How can you explain a taste unless you taste it.
For somebody never smell a jasmine, same thing, no matter how hard I explain how nice the smell is, unless he/she smell it she/he doesn't know the smell. How can you explain a smell unless you smell it ?
It is the same about faith , about believe in God; No matter how hard I explain why I believe, if you don't want to believe you will not believe. Simple!
I dont feel strange because I dont have to and nobody ever force me at all, I just do believe.
Faith, smell, taste, colour, cant be explained; It is not a dogma either!
The smell of jasmine different than Roses is not a dogma, it is a fact, but... nobody can smell it on behalf of other people.
Taste of chili(hot) is different than the taste of pepper(hot) .
No body can taste the hot taste on behalf of others.
You can say believing in God is just a delusion, maybe for you or for some, not for others.
Christians believe that Jesus is God, I cant believe it, so what?? They have their own reason to believe it. Whatever it is. Let them be.

2 Cor 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Belief is looking with the eyes of faith into the unseen realm which is eternal and supernatural. It is looking with the eyes of our spirit and not our natural eyes. Our spirit is dead and separated from God unless the Spirit comes and lives in us when we are born again. We know the reality of God through our spirit and not in our natural mind. But we can see with our natural eyes the signs, wonders and miracles done in Jesus' name as mighty works of God and from these experiences conclude that God is real.

Yes - I do find it totally strange that in all aspects of life we are told that facts are what we need to govern our lives by. If we invest money into a business, and we said 'Well I just felt it was right' or if we are giving evidence against a person and we said ' I just believed he was guilty' would anyone take us seriously. No! So why in matters of morality and faith must we just 'believe'? Absurd!

Words to the soul have no explanation. Christians aren't the only ones with faith in a higher being. Am I delusional for seeing the God and Goddess around me? Maybe. But it makes me happy and it makes me want to do good in the world. So what does it hurt?
