i was playing softball for awhile yesterday, and i woke up with this pain in the back of my knee, feeling very tight and uncomfortable to walk. does anyone know if this could be serious, or what muscle this is... just wondering if it's worth going to get checked out or i will be ok in a couple days..

This is probably over use of the muscles. Rest for a couple of days and take a hot bath for 30 minutes using 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts to reduce the pain and inflammation. Advil soft gel capsules taken four times daily will really help the pain. If you do not feel better in a few days contact your medical doctor.

Sounds like you just pulled or strained your hamstring. Rest it a couple of days, take some over the counter pain medication, apply a heating pad to relax the muscle and it'll be fine.

I could be wrong, but you could have pull your hamstring or something. Try to give it a couple of days and see if it would stop, if it keeps acting up go see a doctor. Or you could go see one just in cased.
