the only fat burning exercise is cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50min combined with light weight training
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

The best way to lose flab is cardio and lots of it. Once you lose the excess weight around your stomach and love handle area there are plenty of crunch exercises you can do. By using free weights put one in your left and one in your right and bend slightly to the side (3 sets of ten). Using a free weight on your chest is also a more effective way to do crunches as well.

of course crunches or sit-ups would be the most effective, but also one of the most difficult. (especially for those with back or neck pain.) My Grandmother's motto was to ALWAYS SUCK IN YOUR GUT! She swore that if you wore clothes that were almost too small, and keep your abdomen area tight....you WILL lose the weight!

It is impossible to lose fat in one specific area. Your body will store fat in a particular area, regardless of what you do. You need to be doing at least 30 minutes of cardio a day to reduce overall fat and you do need to work all muscle groups, not just that area. Lean muscle burns way more fat than anything else, so the more lean muscle you have, the easier it will be for your body to burn excess fat.

One exercise is to lift up one leg about 45degrees, and the other slightly lower. Change legs after you cannot tolerate anymore.
Another exercise is to curl both legs into 90degrees(something like riding bicycle), slowly rotate as if you are riding bicycle.
both exercises trains your stomach and are very effective (esp. the first one) according to my own experience.

floor exercise for the love handles:
try laying on your side, prop your head up on your hand, bend your legs slightly, lift knees up towards your shoulders, and return to original position. You should feel it 'burning' on the side of your stomach. Do a couple of sets and repeat on opposite side.
