WHY do you that consider yourself a religious and say to love everyone because you're trying to follow Jesus' example and say that racism and discrimination is ignorant keep saying nasty things about the LDS church and its members? don't you think that this is discrimination? I have learned in my church that making wars with other religions not right because anyways we are all brothers and sisters so we don't do that, I have never heard a Mormon say to a person from other religion things like what people from other religions say to Mormons. People keep talking about racism in the church, poligamy, Josep Smith was a false prophet, etc... why don't they get better informed and stop criticizing so hard other people's beliefs and then they want their beliefs to be respected. I have read terrible things about my church and what some people say about it, but when that happens, as i know it is not true, my faith grows more because I know that I'm in the right place and my beliefs are right.

Freedon of speech is right, but I think that it is not good that other faiths criticize so hard the LDS church and I want to know WHAT do you earn with that? hate?
I have an aunt that is JW and she has this ignorant attitude when she sees the pics of my baptism, my Book of Mormon, knows I am going to church or a church-related activity, sees something that someone from church gave me, etc... isn't it ignorant?
In questions that some of my LDS contacts have posted, people from other religions answer them things like "morons" "leave the church" "fake gospel" etc... we are not going to leave the church just because someone who's discriminative and don't share beliefs with us says so.
In fact, do you think that God likes it when you act so mean and say nasty things about a religion that just tries to follow God's rules and Jesus' explample the best they can?

One of the greatest things about this church is the missionary service and if you don't want to be visited, just tell them politely that you are not interested and they will not visit you anymore. That's it! and anyways, you would have surprice visit the first time they knock your door because after the first visit if you are interested they make like an appointment with you and tell you when and at what time they will come back according to what time is right for you. If they convert you is because you wanted to be converted, they won't force you.

Why do you bother asking such questions about opinions and comments that will never stop until the Second Coming of Christ? We cannot change their minds any more than they can change the minds of ardent, active LDS members.
Those that have axes to grind against the Church will continue to do so, regardless your pleas to the contrary. Ignorance breeds well with the intolerant.

Bringing up the Mormons really riles up the "So Called" christians. First Mormans are christians. Though I feel Joseph Smith was wrong, I get that he was trying to start a new mythology that was a little (or a lot) more relevant to the people at that place at that time. Less tha 200 years ago. It kills me that people who believe a Dead Jewish Rabbi rose from the dead, floated to the sky, walked on water, is somehow involved in their everyday lives, 2000 years ago. And that whole story is tacked on the the end of a bunch of other MYTHOLOGY that have world wide floods and all living things survived on one boat. Here is a perfect example, Is there much difference in the Moses and the Stone Tablets and Josef smiths golden plates? I dint see Mormons slagging other religions, or judging people, they have their missions, but so do many christians. Mormons have every right to exist and worship. Other faiths need to put a cork in it. If they new as much about their own religion and a Mormon knows about the LDS then they can talk. Very few know very much. I am not a christian or a Mormon.

Religion is a hard thing not to feel discriminated against.
Peoples faith is just what it is. They believe what they are saying. People often find things with the LDS that go against what they believe. This is why they speak up.
The Bible says to work out you own soul salvation. This does not mean how ever you figure it go for it but rather salvation can only be gotten from that individual.
When a person believes their way is the only way they are concerned that other who don't believe like them are going the wrong direction and leading others to do the same.
Look at Rev. Jerry Falwell how many people have attacked him for what he believed.
Those same people would hate me to if they could hear all I stand for according to the Bible.
I have met with Mormons a few years back and though after many good weeks of Bible discussion we just didn't see eye to eye. I hated that they never came back to my home because we had a great time together. But they knew I wasn't going to see things their way and they weren't going to see it my way. But it was our last meeting that we ever disagreed. It did not get bad I just told then how I believed.

Joseph Smith picked that fight when he declared that ALL other churches were an abomination in Gods sight. It is not un christlike to expose false prophets or false doctrine. Christ Himself spent a great deal of His time contending with the Pharisees and Saducees. Old testament law put false prophets to death on the spot. If you think being Christ like is to just let false teachers lead people to their deaths in Hell and not lift a finger to try to save them, then you are clearly wrong. When Judgement Day comes, Christ is pictured with a double edged sword and I guarantee you it will be used.

Are you forgetting what the LDS say about other religions? Let me remind you, You say that all the other churches/religions are an abomination to the Lord, that they are corrupt, of the devil (see what they did in the temple ceremony), that unless you join the LDS church you are not going to be with Jesus. Do I need to go on? Before you or any other LDS person cries about what others say about your religion, take a look at what you say about theirs. You call me Anti-Mormon, I say the LDS are Anti-Christian.
Most of what people say about the LDS church is true! The LDS are so afraid of any information about their church that doesn't paint it all rosy. If it has something negative to say about the church it's automatically "Anti-Mormon" and the LDS avoid it like the plague.

Someone sent me an E-mail asking me to answer this question.
Let me preface my answer by saying to all of you a bit of my history:
1. I was raised in a fairly liberal Lutheran Church which followed tradition a whole lot more than it followed the Bible.
2. I became a Born Again Christian in high school and soon my attitude, which is just like Martin Luther's, "Sola Scriptura" found myself at odds with many Lutherans including my Pastor and my Dad who was a Trustee of the church.
I was at odds with them since I believe, "Sola Scriptura" and they don't. They think following church traditions are fine, when in fact, Jesus taught against following religious traditions in Mark chapter 7.
Don't ask me for a verse, read the whole chapter.
3. I had never heard of the Mormon Church or the LDS Church until I joined the Navy and was aboard a ship in 1971 and there I got to know two Mormon sailors pretty well.
They became two of my best friends in the Navy.
One guy was Charles Kemp and the other Edwin Bell.
Anyway they both tried to convince me that the Mormon Church was the truth. About that time I was reading thru the Bible for the first of many times in my life.
Since then I've obtained copies and read all the basic Mormon books: BOM, PGP, D&C.
4. Joseph Smith claims he first found those golden plates because the angel, Moroni, showed them to him.
Galatians chapter 1 tells us that if someone preaches a different gopsel, even if he claims he got it from an angel, "Let him be accursed".
This is one of many proofs that Joseph Smith is a false prophet and that the Mormon or LDS church is false cult.
Mohammed, makes the claim that he got his revelations from the angel Gabriel, so this same passage proves the the Islam or Muslim religion is false.
Jesus also warns us not to follow false prophets who would come in the future and who would deceive many.
Therefore it is my conclusion that Islam and LDS or Mormon along with the JW's and some other religions are false cults.
I urge all to leave them.
Smith and Mohammed were both pedophiles and sex addicts which shaped their new religions.
It is a very evil man who tries to make a religion out of abusing women and children. Which is why Islam and LDS are two of the worst false cults on the planet.
At least the JW's don't advocate 40 year old men getting married to 12 year old girls.
There are over 200 denominations of Mormons. 198 of the 200 still practice polygamy today.
Warren Jeffs who made it to FBI's Ten Most Wanted list was the leader of one of those 200 Mormon denominations.
The couple who kidnapped and raped 14 year old Elizabeth Smart were followers of the Mormon church.
The Salt Lake City based denomination of the Mormon church of course claims they are the REAL Mormons and the Independence Missouri based denomination of the Mormon church claimes they are the REAL Mormons, just like all of the other 200 denominations, including Warren Jeff's group, claim they are the REAL Mormons.
Joseph Smith and Brigham Young both had many wives and some of those wives were children.
So from the get go, the Mormon church was led by child abusers.
The Roman Catholic Church also claims it is the only REAL Christian Church and they have a long history of abusing children then having their Bishops look the other way, protecting the Priests who abused children.
I follow God's written Word, which does not include anything written after the 1st century, and you guys follow the "burning in your bossum".
I'm pretty certain that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and most if not all of the leaders of the early Mormon Church are right now buring in hell along with Mohammed and Adolph Hitler and Joe Stalin and their newest roommate is a guy named Saddam.
They are all now keeping the rich man company. I refer to the rich man Jesus taught about in Luke 16:19-31.
My prayer is that everyone who reads this message will RUN not walk away from all false cults, including all denominations of the Mormon or LDS church.
I am not discriminating against a people group, I'm warning those who have been deceived to leave a false religious system.
The sad fact is, most Mormans have swallowed this lie, hook, line and sinker. They are truely deceived.
I don't hate Mormons. I love them. Which is why I'm trying to help them see that their religion is a lie.

Different religions have always bickered and fought.I think the problem is your missionary program. If Mormons weren't out there, actively trying to convert their members.I doubt you'd hear from other sects.Except of course when they tried to convert you. Most religions have skeletons in their closets.Mormons are no different.

If someone disagrees with you it doesn't mean they're necessarily badly informed. Personally, I don't think Mormonism is any more true than any other religion but that isn't out of lack of education and investigation.

Mormons are traditionally poorly informed about their own religious history, and much less knowledgable about any other religions (unless they are converts - what were they thinking?). Some are, but they are few.
It's up to the few who can see through the haze of magical thinking and put forth the notion that all is not well in Zion, and never has been.

religions other than ones own always look ridiculous. and to an atheist, they all look so.
i have a christian friend that thinks it is so stupid that muslums believe that a man/ god will come up out of the ground to lead them to victory in a world ending war. whereas he believes that a man/god will come from the sky to lead them to victory in a world ending war. both seem equally silly to me, but out of respect i dont mention it unless someone asks.
