A bowl of cut up fruit. Slice up honeydew melon, cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberries, pineapple, and toss in some grapes. Mix together in a bowl and you're done! YUMMY!

Well a luau usually consists of a kalua pig but with kids the whole pig might be a little scary depending on how old they are. Maybe just cook some ham and have pineapple and lots of other fruits around. Sweet potatoes and salmon are also common and the kids would probably eat those. We did a Luau when my daughter was 10, We made chicken on stick, put every kind of fruit on a stick, and made blended "alcohol free" drinks and put then in coconut cups with little straws and an umbrella. The kids loved the food.

Cake decorated with a Hawaiian girl or a palm tree on a cake and small coconuts fall off the tree or a beach scene with blue gel "water", brown sugar "sand", and sandal candles.

A 'Pu pu platter" (appetizer in Hawaiian) with rolled meats and cheese cubes with the fish and umbrella picks.
Vegetables and dip trays. Coconut Shrimp, Fresh Fruit Trays and Fruit Kabobs with pineapple, mango, strawberries, and grapes.

Sweet and sour meatball or ham with chunked pineapple shish ka bobs, maybe some grilled fruit skewers with cocoanut yougart dip. pinapple boats filled with fruit or used for Ice cream bowls... crisp sparkling water with slices of real fruit... i would serve some fresh coconut and i would also have cubed ham and cubed pineapple on toothpicks. for dessert maybe something fun like pineapple upside down cake!
