Me first. This soft-brained bigot did more to divide Americans than anyone in the 20th century. Encouraging hatred and attracting pandering politicians he wrecked Americans' image of themselves. He preached discord and demagoguery and intoduced theocracy to the US.

I think you give him too much credit and you are way over the top.
He was simply a minister who influenced politics and took a stand for what he believed. If one of your liberal pundits did that they would be lauded and you would be tripping over yourself and salivating every time he/she held a press conference or published an article.

He was a bigot, he was pro-censorship...I can't really be that sorry that such a horrible man is gone.
