Do men know what real pain is? It seems as though they go through life without any knowledge of how difficult things are for women: we have to go through periods, period pains, pregnancy, childbirth, and in later life, the menopause! Even simple things like going swimming are controlled by whether or not you're on your period, for example. Men have it so much easier - true or false?

I don't really find it any consolation that it hurts when a man gets kicked down there - unless he's a total idiot, he isn't kicked down there once a month for 5-7 days is he? If only!
To the guy that says men build houses while women make tea: perhaps it's time you got back into your cave. I would love it if you could experience the pain of childbirth or even just period pains - you guys would weep!
I'm starting to sound anti-men here and I'm not. I would also rather be a woman (as someone pointed out, it is magical being a mother and having a person growing inside you). But there's no denying that men have it SOO easy and don't even know it - as many have pointed out!

To respond to abluebob.... I will trade you my period, childbirth and menopause any time to build the houses.... you couldn't handle a life of bleeding, pushing, tearing, hot flashes, and cramps.
Now to answer the question. Men may be stronger physically, but women are stronger mentally. There is a reason for that. We have to have a period, carry children, give birth and all that womenly stuff that GOD knew men couldn't handle!

Do men know what real pain is: Yes they have physical ailments that can be extremely painful for them.I have shot a
nail from a pneumatic tool right into my hand. I have fallen off of a horse and shattered my ankle so bad that I still have a plate in it and screws.Perhaps women go through life never knowing how difficult it is on men. You sound like a women that wants to be pampered all her life.I am not trying to be rude so please bare with me. My wife and I ran our own company for 6 successful years. My wife during that time had three children.We were in construction mind you! My wife worked up to when her water broke every time.She also only had one week off afterwords.All of this was completely her choice based on her dedication to our cause out here.
My wife did everything I did within reason I mean I am 6ft4 and 250lbs where she is 5ft4 130 lbs.
My point is this:We all choose the pain we wish to feel,and we also choose if we are going to whine to everyone about it.
Men at one time use to do allot more physical type of work
than women and we felt the pain of it each day of our life's
It is 2007 and allot of women still choose to avoid any type of physical work and now the men want to develop the secretarial spreads instead of actually doing physical work.
So I guess my answer would be that most men are in fact pusssssies but not all of us.

I can see where you're coming from, however; from a guys point of view I don't agree one hundred percent. I believe that guys go through just as much pain as women do in general. For instance, women are on their period once a month for an estimated week, but construction worker Dan or Bob is on the job everyday lifting, hammering, drilling, sawing, etc. The type of pains that come along with those kinds of jobs are no walk in the park. When it comes to everyday life, i do sympathize for women to an extent. I don't think that I would ever want to go through childbirth no matter how rewarding it may be. And being pregnant for nine months is probably worse than the labor itself. So i guess in general, women do have it easier than men, but their are certain cases where a particular man may have a rougher time than anyone thinks.

They also STILL get paid more on the dollar for doing the same job as a woman in this day and age! (Based on national USA averages). For one day I would love for a man to feel how uncomfortable/threatening is to be whistled at by passing motorists, not be able to go to a restaurant/bar alone to read a book without being preyed upon and to have anxiety over walking to your car at night to go home and having some man... Well I can obviously go on and on. I am not a "man hater" by any means, but I def think men have it easier in this country (USA, you know the "progressive" country) than women.

It depends where you live and in culture you are part of nowadays.

In some parts of the world the men certainly do have it easier: women do the work and child-care, the guys drink the beer (a gross generalisation, but then so is your question).

I think in northern Europe nowaday, where it is difficult to afford anything without both partners working and sharing the child-care and housework, life is pretty even.

Biologically, pain is pain kiddo... try burst disks, broken legs, throat abscesses and kidney stones. I wouldn't recommend any of them but having tried them all I can assure you that men feel pain just as much as women.

Oh, and while women are having their period, the majority of them manage to share the misery with the rest of the family.

Men and women are two sides of the same coin: we're all human.

you got it right, they have it easy in the pain dept and about every other department I think. they have the wife to cook for them (even tho she works too) they have the wife doing the laundry (even tho she works too), they have the wife doing the cleaning and household chores (again...) I think some younger guys (Im 46) are maybe a little better about helping around the house and stuff, but the men of my generation have it made. they work 40 hrs a week, mow the lawn 1 x a week in summer only, and occasionally take the trash out, and that pretty much sums it up.....Or is that just my husband????

Well, men don't go through it all early in life like women do (oh trust me, my fiance felt like hiding in a corner when a cyst on my ovary burst because I was about to shoot him because he was complaining about work), but just wait until they get old. Can't get it up, lose their hair. Women have it way easier after menopause!

All womens problems start with the word MEN or include the

* mensturation
* menopause

and a few more.........

Like i always say, if only men could see what its like to have a period, and go through all that pain.

Very true, women are the ones who go through physical pain of periods and child birth. A man wouldn't know what hit him if he had to go through any of this, they act like they are dying when they've got a cold!

It's true. But it shouldn't be as painful to be a woman for the period issue.
I've read some books that recommend a strict care of the self when a woman is in her period. I know it will sound impractical; but it's recommended to clean your body with washing rags during your period to avoid abrupt changes of temperature for at least the first three days... and it goes on and on... You should ask an (open minded) elder about the ways she used to handle it.
Oh, and eating habits are outrageously important when it comes to the care and development of your body. This author claim menopause shouldn't be painful at all. Now, this writer is close to her 50's, and a respected figure in her country.
So...
It's true, is easier to be a man. I would choose to be a man again if I got to choose what to be in my future lives. But there's more to your pains than the way you put it.
In japan, there's a group of females who have done changes in their eating habits (eating as organic as it gets) consuming abundant soy products instead of meat and stuff... before they turned 35 in order to be ready for a "God designed" (painless) menopause... just some more food for thought.
take care
