Are mediums, physics and other spititualists evil?At times their predictions can do some good for someone, so are they always evil?
Or are they sometines from God?
How are they different from the Prophets from the Bible?

LabGirl...no one made you answer the question. I use the word evil, only because the Bible seems to warn us about being careful about these things; that's why I'm asking the question!
No offense!

Sorry about the use of the word "Evil" ..maybe I should have said "harmful" instead..

I have worked with several mediums, clairvoyants, etc, and I will admit the most harm is that a lot of psychics are in it for your money.

True mediums use the same "gift of prophecy" mentioned in the bible. I have seen and experienced them talk with angels and the deceased who are not really dead just in a higher dimension after leaving the body.

I believe it also has to do with brain frequency as most really good mediums are born with the ability.

Some mediums are able to tap into our thoughts like a radio frequency, having done this myself, I feel I more or less connect to an unseen frequency of people around me rather than the deceased. For example if someone is hungry for ice cream, then I see ice cream pop into my head and so I mention it "Hey how did you know I was thinking that."

So there are some who think they are talking to the dead but more or less just picking up on your thoughts.

Prophets in the Bible on the other hand for the most part had direct contact with higher beings, angels, spirit guides / and often chosen by God or whoever visited them to speak to people whatever those beings wanted to say.

I would not be quick to label them all as evil, but there are those who's sole reason is to make a quick buck off you, especially those who say "well I see an illness, for another 100 bucks I will tell you how to get rid of it."

Basically you have to be the judge to if whatever was the outcome was good or not, and your impressions.

Seeing the future is tricky, and people are quick to accuse a medium or prophet of being false if that future event does not happen. The future is not written in stone and people often forget we have our free choice to change the future.

For example if I were to say I see you traveling down a certain highway to a certain city, but at some point you make a sudden decision to take an exit to another town, you have changed that future that was shown. That goes for relationships, future world events, etc. I have seen a lot of predictions come true and others totally miss the mark.

If I predict that it will rain tomorrow, and it does, can I be called a medium or prophet? These people, for the most part, do very little good. Why? Because the outcome of your life is determined by what YOU DO. Not what they say you should do. Following others' advice is helpful, but you still have to decide what to do yourself.

The prophets in the Bible spoke the Word of God, which was not used for the purpose of matchmaking and job-hunting. God had specific important purposes for speaking to the prophets. Impending war, famine, or drought, for example. Or to tell His people they were heading in the wrong direction spiritually.

Not all of them are evil. Some naturally are just frauds and con-men. I could name names. In some ways, the true Spiritualist mediums and psychics are identical to the prophets of the Bible. Some of them are even Christians and Bible believers. Of course there ARE place in the Bible where such things are condemned. (Remember, Jehovah thy God is a jealous God!) I recommend the following books by Rev. Sprague, a Spiritualist minister: "All The Spiritualism in the Christian Bible" & "Was Jesus of Nazareth God or Man, Christ or Spiritualist Medium?" a million) Why God demands a medium (prophets) to talk with human beings? He does not. 2) As God being all effective can continuously consult from each and every person on an identical time it is right. 3) so why he choose distinctive prophets like Abrahm , Mosses and Mohamed for elementary interplay. He does not.

The Bible tells us we must rightly divide the spirits discerning the good ones and the evil ones. A few minutes with one of them is all it takes to discern good or evil.

A true prophet is called and ordained of God... anyone who claims to be a "prophet" etc. without ordination has no authority and is probably being led by the power of the devil.

Basically, both phenomenoms (scientifically unproven yet, but it does exist) are the same

The problem is some are Real, some are Not

Also, 'Intentional Usage' of that power. so there are built-in Code of Conduct

Indigenous people tend to have this ability

Cheers

Hm very interesting.
Jesus was psychic. Think about it! He gave the world prophecies. Men w ho wrote the bible were psychic. They fortell all sorts of stuff. But people are more then happy to jump on mediums case now calling them evil. Hmm something to think about.
FYI, I don't believe anything I just wrote LOL just thinking out loud ;)

There are prophets and then there are false prophets. If one really knows that they are only pretending, then they would definitely be a false prophet. It's all a matter of intent.
