Does the Portable Air Conditioner really work?Is it worth buying?Does it cool up as the Window & Split AC?

I am planning to buy a Portable AC. Does it really work like the Window & Split AC? What about the sound it creates? Please help.Thanks in advance.

They work fine, the thing is most of them have a big flexible hose like the one your clothes dryer has. You'll have to port that out through a window to transfer the heat outdoors.
