I have a Goodmans 32" HDTV which has worked fine for a month until recently when coloured dots and sparkles started to show up on screen at random intervals. At one point the screen went a purple haze colour and then just fixed itself when playing my xbox 360. It seems to be worse when on my xbox but I have tried testing the 360 cables and they are fine. I am thinking it may be interference as if it was the tv surely it would happen more often or when im watching tv or a dvd. My sky cable was loose and when i moved my phone cable from the sky box the screen colour flicked. I have my sky box, xbox and dvd player in the same corner so is this sparkle dot effect an interference issue or is it my tv?

This is no doubt your TV.

It sounds very much like dry joints on the electronics.

could be a couple of things,

something called " dirty power " which comes from the national grid. This may explain why the problem just went away. A good " clean power " from a belkin or monster center will recity this.

But in all likely hood get the tv checked out, as it is classed as a low entry item.

Make sure that there is nothing magnetic ( a speaker for instance, near TV. You can make a
"Faraday cage" out of metal screening (grounded) to cut out interference, or just separate any electronic boxes from your TV.

In all honesty, it's probably the TV. Goodmans products are not very good and generally don't last long before something goes wrong...
