German Air Force uses part of Fort Bliss. Fort Bliss is one of the largest military installations in the U.S. It is about the same size as Rhode Island. The land the Germans use is considered German foreign soil just like the land we use in Germany (and in many, many other countries). There section is considered a German Air Force Base within the U.S.A.

I don't know of specific bases, but I know there are foreign military personnel on several of our bases. They are NATO allies and they joint train so that they know how we do stuff for the joint operations. There are exchange programs where we send some personnel to their bases for the same training. I've seen Canadians, French, British, Germans, Greek, Spanish, and I'm sure a couple of others I just didn't recognize. I know when we were in Germany the first time, there were Canadians that came to use our PX (think everything WalMart carries with JCPenney's quality). There are others that come from smaller countries that come for training they can't get in their own countries. There are soldiers from Central and South American countries and I've seen one or two from African countries over the years. We've brought Iraqis to a couple of our bases to train them basic soldiering skills and how to train other soldiers in their country to be a cohesive force. The thought was to get them where they could see that people of different opinions could overcome them and be an effective force. I don't know if it worked or not, but we tried it.

Sarah is right, the Germans have an air defense base at Fort Bliss, TX. Also, the US and Canada are jointly running NORTHCOM out of Peterson AFB, CO. Fort Benning, GA once held the School of the Americas with several Latin American units stationed there, but I don't know if that ground actually belonged to the US or another country.

There are no foreign military installations inside the US. Note the word "military". The only installations that are considered part of foreign sovereign nations are embassies of those countries we have established diplomatic relations with. If we break diplomatic ties (as we did with Iran) then that foreign mission reverts to the possession of the United States.

Not bases, but several countries have detachment liasons in the U.S. For example, several countries have sailors stationed at various shipyards as laisons for either obtaining an obsolete U.S. Navy ship that is for sale or while having thier ships maintained by American shipyards. Many U.S. Allies have military members attending U.S. military technical schools and warfare schools.

There is an American AF base in the US that the Germans use for pilot training. They train side by side with Air Force pilots, I believe. Can't remember what base it is, but I'm told there are some awesome German restuarants outside of the gate!

Well, if you take out joint bases, then the US really doesn't have any overseas bases either.

But the largest group of foreign soldiers in the US, is the German Air Defense School in fort Bliss, TX.

No...and the only reason we have them elsewhere is to protect the interests of our nation and our allies abroad....For instance military bases in South Korea prevent a North Korean Invasion...military bases in Germany were in response to WW2 and so on.
