Thank you everyone for your in put. The car is automatic and no it does not have a dip stick. My husband went to Auto Zone and they looked the info up in a manual. It showed a picture of the bottom of the transmission oil pan. It has two plugs ( one to drain and the high one is the level). You have to check it while it is running and warm ( VERY IMPORTANT ). It takes a 19mm socket to remove the plug and fill with a rose gun (suction type gun) and fill until it comes out. Dextron 3 is the oil. And YES they want to make it so the average person will just take it in to have it serviced.
Once again THANK YOU EVERYONE.
This is the first time I posted anything and the response was great.

I have a 01 Rodeo, I do not believe you can add it yourself.
You have to bring it to the dealer or a certified shop.
You cannot even check the fluid levels.
It is a sealed case.
I was shocked to find out that I could not check it myself.
Another way to get you to spend $$$
I can look, if you like to see if there is a place to put it, but I am almost 99% sure, you cannot do it yourself.
Are you getting a light on your dashboard for your transmission? What makes you think that you need fluid?
Let me know if you need further help.

Hopefully someone with a Rodeo will answer.
As mentioned, a Standard the Gear Lube is added at the Transmission. Many Automatics do have a Dip-Stick similar to the oil and it filled through that, unlike the oil that is added at the valve cover. Another thing, some vehicle today do not have a Transmission Dip-Stick and the fluid is checked and added similar to the Standard Transmission, a real pain for those that not have the tools.
I have a Picture Link below. In the picture left of the yellow circle looks to be the Fill Hole. So, from looking at the front of the Engine, look to the back left for the Dip-Stick. It should be close to the Firewall (The metal Body behind the Engine).

Well if its standard you dont use transmission fluid, you use gear lube and that need to be put in directly into the tansmission case...but if it is automatic then the trans. spout should be next to the engine "hidden" somewhere.
