I personally believe He was nailed through His hands. But if He was or wasn't isn't the factor that I base my salvation on. I feel far too many people analyze every aspect of everything and don't just accept His free gift and call it good. That is just my personal opinion on that issue.
Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

Jesus is now stretched out on the stake with his hands placed above his head. The soldiers then pound large nails into his hands and into his feet. He wrenches with pain as the nails pierce flesh and ligaments. When the stake is swung upright, the pain is excruciating, for the weight of the body tears at the nail wounds. Yet, rather than threaten, Jesus prays for the Roman soldiers: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” According to God’s Law, bodies are not to be left hanging on a stake overnight. So the Jews ask Pilate that the death of those being executed be hastened by breaking their legs. The soldiers, therefore, break the legs of the two robbers. But since Jesus appears to be dead, his legs are not broken. This fulfills the scripture: “Not a bone of his will be crushed.”
However, to remove any doubt that Jesus is really dead, one of the soldiers jabs a spear into his side. The spear pierces the region of his heart, and immediately blood and water come out. The apostle John, who is an eyewitness, reports that this fulfills another scripture: “They will look to the One whom they pierced.”

Dewcoons beat me to it.
The actual word used isn't found in the description of the crucifixion scene - (which surprised ME to no end) - see:
Matthew 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted His garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
Mark 15:24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.
Mark 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
John 19:18 Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
It's first found in the description of countering Thomas the Disciple's doubts about seeing a risen Christ:
John 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold My hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing.
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Perhaps from the base of G5494 in the sense of its congener the base of G5490 (through the idea of hollowness for grasping); the hand (literally or figuratively [power]; especially [by Hebraism] a means or instrument): - hand.
I have seen the translation to also refer to the entire area from finger tip to elbow. ...So the wrist is the most logical place.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.... now I have to go find where we get the idea of the piercing of the feet and hands.... not centuries of artist's imaginings, I hope....
I'm off to search...
Peace.

The Greek word translated "hands" in most English versions includes the wrist and part of the forearm. It is translated "hand" because we have no specific word in English which includes all of that. So it is more likely that the nails were driven through in just below the wrist, rather then into the palms as Hollywood tends to show it. And it still meets the Bible requirement that the nails be in the "hands".

I think it is possible.
When you think about it, it seems more likely that the Romans would do it this way, since it would be much more painful.
On the other hand, we know that they were under orders to make it quick that day...so there's really no telling.
No, I had not seen this before. There is nothing to say, except
WOW
Now I am in tears...
Thank you Jesus...

I believe that crucifiction was performed by driving nails through the wrists as it was harder for the arms to "tear" off. If nails had gone throught he hands, they would not have stayed there very long. Funny how people who claim to have stigmata have bleeding hands...

Song is great!
But Jesus #2 will actually be Einstein #2 who will invent the way for man to survive beyond Earth years... to carry on our species generations (gaining the immortality) and paradise is in another planet.
