I went to Lowe's. They had lower prices then most that I could find and they were Pella windows. Now I didn't have them install them, I had a contractor do it because he was cheaper and did a better job.

I would stick with nationally known names like Anderson Window. It's been awhile since I have ad windows replaced but I would be willing to bet you are looking at about $700.00 per window installed. It will be a good window but possibly not Top of the line. If you have an older home, the standard size windows may not fit and you may need additional work done to the siding of you house. Custom sized windows are always an option but i am sure they will cost more and if you dont like them, you will be stuck with them. Options can be very confusing but usually you will want something triple paned and gas filled. Some one even have a tinted film built in or internal blinds that never seed cleaning. Most nowadays will be vinyl clad which takes care of maintenance.

Good luck and try no to be shocked at the price. Maybe do the back windows one year and the front the next etc.

Only go to reputable companies and be sure to check with the Better Business Bureau before your final decision is made. Get at least 3 estimates. Compare warranties, and their ability to return should there be any leaking.

Don't do the work yourself......Almost every window replacement company will come to your house and give you a free estimate. Find out what windows you want and make them come to you.
