1) If it is for religious reasons they may well not believe in remarriage so they have burned their bridges really.
That is one "official line" of some sections of the Christian church.
2)For others it is down to personal choice, dependent on a specific situation, or what their particular denomination says about remarriage if they are Christian.

Many of them later remarry. They can not "save" their virginity a second time of course. I suppose there are some who never have sex again, but likely these are a small minority.

This is what Paul had to say in Romans 7:1-3.
1 ¶ Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,)how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
This is what Jesus had to say in Mark 10.
11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
This is what Jesus had to say in Matthew 19.
11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
.....As for me, my first wife divorced me, and I remarried a woman who had been divorced. I believe that God knows what each of us went through in our first marriages and was responsible for bringing us together to share our love with someone who would accept our love. I hope we are right. This has been the best personal relationship that I have ever had. Three other women were hoping I would choose them and none of them, would have been as great as the one I chose.

If you are virgin when you get married and then your husband dies or you get a divorce, when you get ready to marry again you should abstain from sex until you are married.
Some folks choose to never marry again. That is not a requirement but rather a personal choice.

Depends... if it was any good or not! sexually experienced people are not so repressed as those that are 'saving' themselves. I think it's great if You want to but it really all comes down to you being true to yourself.
