The British census of 1922 counted 752,048 in Palestine, comprising 589,177 Palestinian Muslims, 83,790 Palestinian Jews, 71,464 Christians (including Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and others) and 7,617 persons belonging to other groups (corresponding to 78% Muslim, 11% Jewish, and 9% Christian) (1922 census report). Palestinian Bedouin were not counted, but a British study estimated their number at 70,860 in 1930.
Currently, no reliable data are available for the worldwide Palestinian (i.e. non-Jewish Palestinian) population; Bernard Sabella of Bethlehem University estimates it as 6% Christian.

To me the word is an anomaly, an artificially created people group. Palestinians are Arabs. Palestine is a name applied to part of the area of ancient Israel.
The Palestinians were given a state when Israel was given it's charter after WWII, Jordan. But like most people they didn't want to give up their own homes where they lived. I can't blame them for that. It seems to me both Palestinian Arab and war-blasted Israeli's were in difficult positions--the Israeli's (having no bit of earth to call their own wanting their old homeland back as well).
I don't know how many Christian Palestinians are anywhere. I am sure there are some. But you never hear in the news about those who don't approve the wars, do you? So politically, the violent ones have the eyes and ears of the press, and yes, in that case, one assumes we are speaking of Islamic Arabs--theirs is the philosophy which says there shall be no Israeli's here, or if we can help it, anywhere.

I think Palestine comes from Philistine, which means Phallus worshipper. Originally anyhow. Nowadays, I am sure that plenty of Christians. Muslims, and Jews occupy that territory, and the old Phillistines are gone. Or are they? I'd better not speculate or discuss the connection of these modern religions to that ancient one, at least any more than I already have under the questions regarding the Trinity!
But no, I personally do not equate the word to Islamic.
Your other question I can not address, as I simply have no idea and don't feel like looking it up, even though you seem to have kindly provided a source.

the only reason Muslims feel angry about Palestine is because Palestinians life's are being taken by Jews and not Muslims. eg. look at Sudan, do you think that brings international condemnation by any Muslim countries?? Do you think muslim say, "it makes me angry what happens in Sudan". No they don't even care.
Christians (or just non-muslims) are always persecuted when living with a muslim majority. It is no conincedence, that their numbers are decreasing. It is also no coincendence that muslim numbers in western countries are increasing.

All Palestinians have a right to feel furious at the way they have been bullied out of their centuries old land, and treated with utter contempt. No wonder they feel the way they do..!
Glad I'm not a Jew, the shame would be unbearable..!
