Why is it that black people and other ethnicities age better apart from caucasians? I have a 25 year old friend who has a 51 year old mother, but you could mistake her mother for her sister. They are black, by the way.

Whiter skin needs more care, but lots of people neglect using sunscreen and moisturizers. Also, more black people use moisturizer to keep the ashiness away which is great for the skin.

This is just a guess. But caucasian people react worse to the sun. I'm a fair blonde and I burn if I'm outside for just a short while. So over a long period of time, I would say that sun damage causes the skin to look worse and age a person faster.

b/c caucasians have very little melanin in our skin. Melanin causes the skin to be darker, and also protects our skin from sun damage. The vast majority of wrinkles and 'splotchiness' that makes people look old is caused by sun damage.
Us whities get a lot of sun damage over the course of our lives, which is why we need to use sunblock on our faces everyday if we want to stay looking young for longer.

Diet, lifestyle, environment and cultural orientation are some of the factors that affect physical aging. Most caucasians live a very stressful life, eat tons of junk and put lots of chemicals and toxins into their bodies(i.e. alcohol and drugs whether illegal or prescribed) plus they live in highly urbanized areas where concrete buildings and pavements reflect heat from the sun forcing them to seek refuge in air conditioned rooms that retards their body's natural cooling system(sweat glands) and then go to the beach to sunbathe or to tanning salons to artificially darken their skins, damaging it in the process. All these plus the pervading pessimistic outlook in life heightened by the culture of competition hastens their bodies' aging process. Compare that with other ethnic societies' more stress free lifestyle, less fatty diet, cooler climate and greener environment, as well as constant exercise from everyday manual chores and you can see why the people like the Okinawans in Japan for example, live to be a hundred and more.
