If your in the habit of cursing trees for not bearing fruit out of season, we can attribute that to Jesus. But most of our moral code developed long before that.

No. If Jesus would be alive today he would throw up at how man has turned around the 10 Commandments and the Bible in the name of being what they have labeled as "Christian". There isn't a good church to belong to these days. The Evangelicals are in their pews laughing at Christ and the sacrifices he made, The Catholics have priests that have violated every bit of trust any normal individual has placed in him as a example of how to live, and the Muslims are killing in the name of Allah???. Why can't all people just get along? Why is money the only thing that counts in today's world? Money isn't even backed up by gold, because we haven't had a gold standard for a long, long time! Why do we have a health care system that flaunts its benefits as "selling points" and then when a patient requests coverage of the benefits offered, it is as though they are chasing a feather on a windy day! Why do we have crooks in office that love to see big business money expand over a soldier's well being? If our current ethics can be attributed to Jesus - what ethics do we have?

The ten Commandments are based on the 42 Confessions and Denials of the Egytian's. Most of our laws are based of Ancient Greece. While Jesus encourage morals that he felt were slacking at the time, no he didn't invent them. There was a world before Jesus. Obviously God talked to them before Jesus or the OT wouldn't exist.

It would expanded that a little to say Judeo/Christian faith, not just Jesus. That would include the 10 Commandments and the rest of 614 Mosaic laws that form the basis of much of the modern western legal system. Jesus' teaching were build on those earlier moral codes, so they are a part of Jesus' ethics.

No. Those ethics were around for centuries before Jesus. Lets not give him more credit than he deserves.
