Its better than NOT walking 20 minutes a day, but it doesn't really burn many calories, so don't expect it to make much difference.

Exercise can be an important tool in weight loss, but like anything of value, you get out of it what you put in.

If you choose something easy and low intensity like walking, you have to make up for 'easy' with 'time'. That is, absolute minimum of an hour a day, and preferrably more. Even then, it will be necessary to make significant changes in your diet.

first of all, "20 minutes a day good enough" no it is not. 30 kilos...do you know how much that weighs? let me give you an example, ever bought a 200g packet of caster sugar and realized it was a little annoying to carry around? or maybe a 2litres of milk and found that hard to hold for longer than 5 minutes? imagine having 15 bottles of milk in your arm, or 150 packets of caster sugar in your arm...alot right? Ok so what if you do loose this weight by doing 20 minutes of walking a day, and eating healthily or on a diet, do you understand that the emount of exess skin you will have on your body with be unbelievable, so in true answer to your question, technically yes, though if you want to look good then i sugest you take up aerobics or dancing 4 times a week addition to that.

I believe it's all about scheduling. If this weight needs to be lost in the next month, then no it is not good enough. In order for your weight to decrease you must remember it's all about output and input. What you put IN your body, is it being led OUT of your body? Are you exerting enough energy to burn your caloric intake? Howver, if you are determined and stick this out for the next year, then the results will show, eventually. You need to challenge your body, how about instead of walking, try doing intervals of three minutes fast walking with two minutes jogging/running if you only have twenty minutes. Interval training is an effective way to burn fat, because it changes your body's pacing, and it works twice as fast than just running or walking alone.
Whatever you choose, make sure you stick with it. Little steps turn into leaps. Good luck.

20 minutes a day is a bare minimum, but couple that with a healthy diet, and you will start losing weight.

As you become more conditioned and start seeing results, you'd probably find that you enjoy your walks more and more. At that point, you could productively increase the time or move on to something more vigorous.

No, but it's a start. In weight loss, your diet is as (if not more) important than exercise. Clean up your intake. You don't have to be obsessive on it, but get an idea of how much you take in and then reduce it 10-15%. You can use a site like www.fitday.com to track how much you are eating.

no, it isnt
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

It's a good start. For lasting weight loss you have to change your lifestyle. Take in less calories than you burn. Eat more high fiber foods, exercise more, smaller portions, etc. You don't have to starve yourself, only make smarter choices. Best of luck.
