i used to be the quietly confident kinda guy.i was popular and althougth i didnt put myself out there with the ladies i often found out too late that people i liked, liked me back. i was laid back and just went with the flow. i never had a care and just enjoyed myself, and was never horrible to anyone.
recently i have had a confidence knock and cant seem to get back to the old me, which is all i want because i didnt have a care in the world. i find myself wanting to be very selfish now and just get what i can.

No - selfishness is not an attractive trait - but maybe you can be forgiven if you've had a knock. Just remember not everyone will treat you so carelessly. Most people will treat you as you treat them. It's sad that this has happened, you sound like a real nice caring guy. Don't let one thoughtless person stop you from being him again.

Get some books from the library on confidence building, or enrol in evening classes to get you mixing with different people.Once you make some new friends the old you will surface again I'm sure.Good luck.

Everyone is selfish to a degree and anyone who tries to tellyou they're not is misguided. If you only have you to worry about then what's the big deal? Sometimes you have to be selfish to get what you want out of life, any why not you only have one life and you should live the way you want.

It is wonderful to have confidence in yourself. It is not wonderful to mistreat or use others because you can.
You can choose to have good moral character, and have plenty of friends, or be a jerk and have plenty of people hate you. It is up to you which mark you choose to place on this earth. Just remember that when you have children, they learn by example. If dad's a jerk, there's a good chance they will be too!! Believe me they will hear the stories.

the fact that you say that you were never horrible to anyone kinda means you blame yourself for not getting girls.. **** happens and also life sucks... dont blame... cus maybe today your blaming yourself but after a while you might start blaming others... omg ... i soo didnt read the wanting to be selfish part... so there.

Dude, There's nothing wrong in the old you, Girls have different taste with guys, don't go to the "New You" just be yourself, do you want a situation where you've changed but all the girls like the old you? Just be yourself, somewhere out there there's a girl that's wating to be loved by the old you...

Yes it is attractive but don't try to get what you can or a lot of people will get hurt. I know what you mean; somehow you'll get back to being confident. Just give it time.
